HAH! First post!
I undoubtedly shall not be the only one disappointed by Eclipse. However the other person who agrees with my assessment is, unfortunately, not a member of the forum, and therefore she shall not be sharing the glory of posting here.

First of all: WHY OH WHY DID THERE HAVE TO BE AN ALMOST-SEX-SCENE??? That part was the most agonizing part of reading the book, and it was plenty hard to avoid (but I did successfully not pay attention to some of the more vivid kisses *suppresses a shudder*). I thought they were seriously beyond that, and what's more, that's the reason I liked the series in the first place. Just couldn't avoid it, could she? Severely disappointed in this. If I could sic the werewolves on those two, I would. There are no words bad enough to describe my disgust, my disappointment... my hate, I suppose.

Second of all: What's worse than Bella being all depressed is her blaming herself. Then again, I shouldn't be surprised. I've always thought her pathetic, emotionally instable, etc.
I suppose I like her better when she was all pathetic and grieve-y. New Moon for the win.

I really expected better. I really expected someone to die. Haha. Stephenie sure is merciful, unlike J.K. Rowling, who had the sense to kill off a few good characters to give readers a big shock. But I must admit, I got pretty scared when Jacob got hurt. Better if he died though.
Yes, I'm slightly crazy and sadistic.

Well, the unspeakable scenes mentioned above will forever scar me. Never in my experience as a reader have I been this disappointed. It makes me like Jacob more, and from now on, I shall be a Bella/Jake shipper.

Ugh. Mark my words:
EDWARD. WILL. DIE.

Okay now. I will allow everyone to attack, blacklist, shoot, mass murder, kill me, now that I've had my say.

I'm just curious why you were disappointed by the schmoopie bits? I ask because this seems to be the only aspect of the book which will please me, based on recent posts.
I survived The Great Dog Snog and all I got was this lousy sigline.

I've got to say, I'm no fan of romance.

So this disappointed me severely. When I had my suspicions, and it proved to be true, I could hardly even stay alive. I thought I was going to have a heart attack.

And one of the reasons I liked the series, tolerated Bella's overly biased descriptions of Edward even, was because it was sex free. I convinced myself that, after Charlie's sex talk, that was that and no more. But I stand corrected. I honestly thought they were more decent than that - that Bella, or at least Edward would restrain themselves.

In my view, it looks totally wrong. I view it as some sort of cross-mating - something I do not value highly (not that I like normal mating in the first place). In my opinion, it just is wrong. Morally and physically wrong. Against nature. That sort of thing.

At this point, I'm even questioning myself, as I did once before. I wonder why I even continue reading it. I know definitely it's not the love - I've always disapproved of it - and it's not Edward *shudder* either. Maybe it's the vampire. Maybe it's the storytelling. Maybe it's the action.

Whatever. I suspect the fourth will be excruciating, dangerous to my mind, a few IQ points lost and a whole new level of disappointment. But I'll be looking forward to it.

WHO. ARE. YOU?

-blacklists-

No but seriously, I don't understand how anyone could ship Bella/Jake. It's... repulsive.

The almost sex scenes? Bella is a hormonal teenage girl. Edward is a vampire, also hormonal, but wicked strong. He could break her in half... Edward's hesitation is the reason she turned back to Jacob. Which disgusted me to no end.

Jacob Black. Oh my god. I hate him so much now. I don't even know what to do with myself. And I found it rather creepy that Quil imprinted on a two-year-old. Sorry Embry, I am sooooooo over werewolves. I hope Irina and her coven come and kill you all.

Those are just my opinions, don't be too offended. My GMA sign said "Team Edward". Well, the back said "Jacob is a homewrecker". I'm very opinionated...

Oh, and also, this post doesn't mean I don't like Eclipse per say. I did like it generally; I just hated specific parts. I think it would have been my favorite, had Bella not started making out with Jacob when Edward was basically right there and then said she did love him (just not as much). But seriously, no. Bella is not supposed to have ever loved Jacob. -shudder- It makes me queasy to think about it. I am furious at Bella for doing that. And I'm angry at Edward too for not ripping out Jake's throat.

And I officially love Rosalie... As Bella says, so many things can change in three days. Well, it turns out, so many things can change in 4 hours.

@Alice: I can see you are opinionated xD I've never seen anyone so supportive of B/E.

How dare you? D: D: D:
Jake? Repulsive? Puh-lease! I like how he's not all formal and creepy. He's human. He's got this warm air about him. He's someone I'd like to have as a best friend. At least he knows humour. Or maybe it's just me. I like to spar with words

I don't see it that way at all. No one who is human can turn into a wolf...

Personally I am sooooooooooooo over this trend in TV and books to KILL A MAJOR CHARACTER. Yes in caps lock because it is really such a caps lock thing to do. It feels like it always done for shock value, to manipulate the audience or to get better ratings. I've rarely seen someone do it where it really fits in the story, other than Joss Weadon.

So not to make it a Harry post but the deaths in books four, five and six worked out okay for me, but many of the deaths in seven felt overdone. And so they didn't get through me because I was kind of desensitized and disconnected.

Yeah, in a big battle there are going to be some deaths, some injuries but I'm glad Stephenie didn't go there. Well actually Bree's death kind of affected me. So cold, so merciless. But also useful to the story.

I haven't read the book, I'm in the UK so I've got no hope for at least a week yet.

BUT, if there are near sex scenes, I will be thoroughly dissappointed. I too do not enjoy romance stories. And I always preferred Jake to Edward, in fact, I don't like Edward as a character, he's weak and don't even get me started on the pathetic thing that is Bella. I think the only reason I read it is because it's easy reading and has a generally good plot.

It made me wince because the real Bree is nice. And I wouldn't like it very much if her bones were snapped. -shudder-

P.S. Jacob Black disgusts me. Yes, I said it again.
