i loved mel, but throughout the whole book i had to keep telling myself "this isnt Bella" lol, any way, i thought it was great how her and Wanders' personalities sort of clashed , i loved them as one person but then at the end i loved them being seperate, so i hope theres more books from their points of views

I love Mel! She is really what human is. She's not totally selfless like Wanda, but there's enough to make her a good person. Doesn't always do the right thing, but she tries. She's strong, can be a little violent, but violence never hurt anyone. (can't believe I just typed that. ) She loves, she hates, she does it all. That girl is rad man.

You got it just right! Haha, I like the "violence never hurt anyone." Well, I think that it doesn't matter when that person's a Seeker. But yes, the girl is rad and totally human to boot.

And msbrit90, I myself can't really see how you could get Mel and Bella mixed up. I mean no offense, I just don't understand. I actually felt as though Stephenie was putting all of Bella's unused altruism into Wanderer. As in Wanderer was like the completely selfless person that Bella tries to be but can't because she's human.

I found Melanie to be very undeniably human...almost the complete opposite of Wanda. Violent but compassionate as well. It was almost as if Wanda and Mel were one, but with a split personality. Loved that they becama almost like sisters...it was touching to see them grow. The little banters they had were funny too.

Essentially I saw Mel and Wanda as one person but was still able to distinguish the two by personality and actions alone.

Melanie is so awesome. I was so torn though because I REALLY wanted Melanie to have her own body back so she could be more of her own person, but even though we couldn't actually SEE what was going on, I'd grown used to Wanderer in Melanie's body, so I was a teensy bit weirded out at the end.

However, I think Melanie is super amazing because of too many reasons to list, but here are a few:

1. She loves Jamie sooooo much. Like a mother, but still as a sister. She cares for him more than anything in the world and she will do anything for him.
2. She loves Jared with so much passion!
3. She ges mad when Jared and Ian kiss Wanda. Basically she fights back when she doesn't like things. It's funny.
4. She's just...Mel. And I love it.

I can actually see both sides to this. I think the altruism thing is really interesting, I never thought of it that way. And I think Mel is definitely more ruthless than Bella ever would be. But both of them are really resilient, Mel with the invasion and Bella with Edward leaving. They're strong, but differently.

i felt really bad for her though, because she didn't have control over anything.

I love that she was strong enough to still hang around after Wanda had taken over her body. I really like her character, so far, in that she's strong and is willing to give Wanda space when she needs it. Not only that but she's willing to share[/]i her body, i suppose, with Wanda. Sure, she doesn't like it, but at least she's relatively, erm, graceful?! about it...if you get what i mean.
