the idea of such a surprising twist sounds great. SM might have written something like that in Breaking Dawn. After all she has always been interested in showing both the good and the bad sides of a character, no matter whether they are 'good' or 'evil'. i'm so excited...

i neither think that marcus and caius are gay nor that there is something between jane and aro.
marcus has had a female mate, but she has been killed in a fight. and there are two unnamed women with the volturi. maybe they're the mates of caius and aro? i think we'll learn about the two of them in BD.
if aro had a mate it would be kind of implausible if he cheated on her for a 13-year-old. and jane wouldn't let herself be used like that. she has deserved much more.
