I wanted Jodi back too.

I dont think it was interesting, I think it was expected. Jared was protective of Melanie's Body the way Kyle's protective of Jodi's Body.

I dont think he's fallen for a soul. I think he's still in love with Jodi & is looking for Jodi still. Hes in love with the Body, not whatevers occupying it. Thats the only reason that Jared didnt kill Melanies body.

I don't think it's quite the same for Kyle as it was for Jared at first. At first, Jared was only protecting the body, there was no belief that there was anything of Melanie left. When Kyle went for Jodi, he had a much different understanding.

Wanda changed everything. Kyle is a bitter angry man at first. And very narrow minded, especially on the subject of souls. Wanda saving his life, and then being unwilling to speak against him, forced him to look at things, including himself, differently. I also think he has a great deal of love and respect for his brother Ian, and Ian's obvious growing affection for Wanda forces him to think.

So it effected how he approached Jodi/Sunny. While he desperately wanted Jodi back, he was no longer willing to sacrifice the soul. And I'm sure Sunny's reaction to him had an impact as well.

While I don't think Kyle is in love with Sunny as yet, I do think he feels very protective of her, and not just because she inhabits Jodi's body. I think her saddness at having to leave earth touched him, and her understanding of why it was a must. If it was just about Jodi and 'the body', he would not have been so protective of the cryo tank.

Well yes, Wanderer has changed some perspective, but do you really think that Kyle would keep Jodi's Body around if there was absolutely no hope? Would he want that? To see something else living Jodi's Life? To something else in what he loves?

I dont think Kyle would.

I can understand why Kyle did that, because Sunny was very like Jodi. I don't think they will ever get the real Jodi back though.

I severely doubt that the real Jodi will come back.I think when he first left to get Jodi/Sunny, his only intention was to get Jodi and her body back. However, I think that his intention got a little clouded when he actually met and started conversing with Sunny. I don't think that Kyle only let Sunny back into Jodi's body because he hoped that Jodi would come back. They kept Jodi's body alive for a long time and Jodi never came back; Kyle might be stubborn as Hell ,but I think that he understands that the chances of Jodi coming back are slim to none. I also think that Kyle began to..... like Sunny. Maybe not love her, but like her. I think that's why he let Sunny have Jodi's body- because he knew Jodi was not coming back and he had become attached to Sunny. I think that Sunny and Kyle's relationship (if there is a follow-up to The Host..) will be an interesting relationship to see develop more.

Yeah, now that we've gotten attached to Sunny and all. I hope that kyle will fall for her and that things will stay as they are.

But knowing Stephenie Meyer...

xD She said that in order to write more books, characters have to die... So, things will definitely not staying the way they are, but hopefully they evolve into something even better!

For me it was a suprise that Kyle was so different when he found Sunny. It wasn't really right because he wasn't that kind when they found Wanda.

But it was somehow right that Jodi didn't come back because Sunny deserved a chance.

I really liked Sunny, just because she seemed so sweet. I thought it was cute that Kyle was so protective of her. I think Kyle is probably sad that once they took Sunny's soul out, Jodi didn't respond, but maybe he can learn to love Sunny if he can't have Jodi.
