i never paid much attention and for some time i though he played minor league basketball. I guess it's because Bella said something like playing ball and my mind jumped to basketball.

Personally, I wish he played minor league basketball

Everytime I think of Phil, I think that maybe the reason that Bella finds him annoying is because he is just one of those people that end up getting on your nerves. I also think that maybe he is one of those poeple that push everyone out of the way of him want to fillful his childhood dream... with the whole baseball playing he does, because from what I have heard he isn't like in any major leauge or anything. But with the same breath I think that he would make the perfect husband for Renee because she seems like she would need someone to take care of. Her motherly side needs that, and I believe that Bella realizes that and decied to get them some space. Sorry if you guys don't understand my rabmling (sp?)
Come, gentle night; come, loving, black-browed night;
Give me my Romeo; and, when I shall die,
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night...

I dunno. I always kind'a liked Phil. He was the more spontaneous young thing that Renee needed and couldn't get from "middle-aged" Bella.

I got the impression that Bella and Phil got along, but didn't particularly understand each other more than it being a case of not liking each other.

I think it would be both interesting and painful if Phil and Charlie ever met. I think they would both be kind'a awkward around each other. And maybe Phil would make some corney jokes to try and lighten the mood, and maybe Charlie would make some cryptic remarks that could be interperted as jealous bitterness. And then maybe they'd accidentally start bonding over a sports game on TV. It could be cute, and Renee would just roll her eyes and start interogating Bella about her super hott boyfriend. :D

Now that I think about it more, I really want to see more of Phil. Actually, in general, I want to see more about Bella's old life in Pheonix and everything. It's not shown much at all...and I know Bella didn't have very many friends back home, but she must've had some. I think it'd be cool if she got to meet up with them again, and we got to see what her old life was like a little bit. Imagine Edward meeting her old friends. That'd be cool.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but did anyone notice how when Bella and Edward visit Renee, he was gone alot because he "coaches high school baseball" and they were in the championships??? That is pretty funny. At least moderately funny. He must have never gotten signed, and now is just a high school coach... Too ad. So sad...

I have not been impressed with him. Seems perfect for Renee though...

I would love to know more about Phil. In the books, we only know him because of Renee is there, explaining things to Bella. Anyway, he seems a good guy, a little young for Renee, but it doesn't matter, they are happy together.

Phil is...meh. I don't really care about Phil. He kind of scares me, I don't know why...he's just not my favourite, or on my "Top 10 Twilight Characters That Matter To Me" List.

I really do wish that we knew more about Phil other than the previously stated facts. It bothers me to not know anything about him other than he's Bella's step-father and the reason she moved to Forks. It kind of creeps me out to, not having the whole story.

STEREOTYPING OF WEREWOLVES = MORALLY WRONG!!!!! They on a whole are BOSS. Not as awesome as the vampires, of course, but I'm biased.
