i don't know if anyone else has noticed this but i think that edward's mother's name is very significant and may even be have a parellelism in it. Elizabeth and Edward senior are Edward's parents and Edward is in love with Bella. Since Elizabeth is just the Italian form of Isabella and they mean the same thing, it kind of foreshadows that Edward and Bella are meant to be together.

Well, I don't know about all that, but I totally have though about how Elizabeth and Edward senior, are both fancy beautiful names that just seem to fit. And then Edward and Isabella, their names also seem to fit beautifully.

P.S. I love Edward's mother for some reason, even though she was only a small part of the novel....though it probaly has something to do with the fact that she brough into the world the most awesomest, hottest boy EVEA'!

It says in one of the PCs that Elizabeth didnt know what carlisle was.. just that she knew he could heal people or had a special power or whatever you want to call it. Its so sweet that her death was hastened because she nursed edward from her own sickbed (okay, more sad than sweet  )

I think she was just desperate for Edward to survive, so obviously she would talk to the doctor who had been treating her. In my opinion she just needed someone to promise her that her son would be ok so she would be able to have some peace of mind, even though she wasnt completely peaceful anyways.
I think I would more agree with that. i mean when your dying and you really have no hope left, what else is there to do but to beg a doctor to try and help your son. Its hard to say though. Maybe she did know what Carlise was. Maybe not.

ya, i think that she didn't know what carlisle was...she just wanted edward to live. edward prolly knows more then he lets on about his mum...he just seems to have this whole "I KNOW ABOUT MY PAST MORE THEN YOU THINK I DO" vibe going on.
i guess she must've known that whatever he did, it would save edward
haha awesomeness 2 tha max :)

i think she, like bella, had a little intuition. and of course she
was delirious with the spanish flu, so that might have been
some help with her "theory." the only other thing about her
that ive wanted to see was edward with her beautiful green
eyes!
oh, and freekin team jane! hope she finds a nice vampire boy thats not quite as hot as edward, but pretty freekin close!

Well, yeah, they say that men tend to fall in love with a woman like their Mother. Although Edward can hardly remember her, his subconscious is probaly adding to his choice of Bella. Bella and Edward's mom would probaly get along wonderfully. Esme is like Edward's mother now, and she and Bella totally get along.

those are my exact thoughts. her intuiton couldv'e been passed down to edward, resulting in his telepathy after he was changed. also, his bronze hair must've looked awesome w/green eyes! *thinks of edward with green eyes and is dazzled by visualization*
