NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. He's not perfect. Let me clarify:

Some girls think he's perfect. I don't, but some people do. And I think it's unfair for those people to expect to find someone exactly like Edward, because perfection doesn't exist.

Esme...
If I interpret the meaning of that last paragraph correctly (I think you were trying to say it's fine to try to find someone who "perfect" in the sense that they are a good person), let me add a few things.

I wasn't trying to say that you should settle for second best or a scumbag of a human or anything like that. I think it's very important to find someone who is moral, decent, good, etc. If I get married, I want it to be to a guy who is a great person. There are a lot of good, amazing people out there. I was saying that I don't think there are perfect people out there, and that it's unfair to expect perfection.

Good I was like no way she would say that.

But we all want to find someone like what you said. I know I want to find a man that loves me for me. And that I will love him for just being him.

Let me get this straight, meganj924 ... are you actually saying that Edward is perfect? I never thought I'd see the day. haha

No, really, you don't have to clarify! I know what you meant. I just couldn't resist the joke! I'd love to respond to your last post, but I don't have time right now. Perhaps I'll just repeat the old saying: "It's better to aim for a star and make a near miss than aim for a mudpuddle and hit it dead center."
I love what you said, you really are a person after my own heart! Yes Edward has raised my standards considerably and I'm not ashamed of it! I hit the mudpuddle already and it almost ruined my life. I'll aim for the star from now on cause I know it'll be worth it. In college I had an Edward. He was almost like him, just dark hair and eyes.....I have faith I'll find another. He has to be out there. I'll never give up hope.
"And the sound of your heart...It's the most significant sound in my world." ~ Edward Cullen

Well, Megan, I'm still giggling!

But I think you underestimate the Team Edward gals. We may swoon over Edward, nevertheless, we do understand the difference between fiction and reality. But, enough off-topic teasing.

What kind of "after" car do you think Edward bought Bella?

are we allowed to discuss BD here?? we're not supposed to in the jake thread. but i may have made that edict....

i think it's fine to look for an edward but it worries me how SO MANY girls look at him with such rose colored glasses. i mean, some of the things he does are sweet in this book and i realize that they are used to prove a point but if they ever happened in real life it would really really worry me.

like, i almost wish SM would have put a disclaimer in Eclipse that said:

"girls. i know you all love edward. but i used his over protection in the beginning of this book as a literary device. if a boy EVER controls you the way edward was with bella, for WHATEVER reason, RUN."

now i know i'm probably going to get fed through the grinder for that one, but it was just an example. you could say the same about bella and her breakdown and stuff.

you know?

Well... most of you. But I've met several girls-- in real life as well as on this message board-- who have told me they aren't ever going to have a boyfriend/get married unless he is exactly like Edward because "no one else is good enough". There's one girl at my school who went so far as to dye her hair brown, insist everyone call her "Bella", draw vampire bitemarks on her face, etc.... I've met some Twilighters who are very much over the top with the entire thing. So I think some girls say, "I don't want anything less than an Edward", might actually be serious...

If they are they need help and fast! That can never happen. There is no edward in the world. Dang why would you do that? That is just plain crazy.

Yeah. Some peoples... *sigh*

But ya know, even when you say "oh, it's all in fun!" or "I know it's just a story!" yada, yada, yada (lol sorry for that last  ) there is still that portion of your brain that says "This is what I like, this is waht I want".

What you dwell on and obsess over constantly WILL become a part of you. That's a promise.
