I absolutely esme~ <3 She's really nice, and patient, and so motherly~

Her story made me cry, actually, once I got to think about it the other night.. I guess she's content now that she gets to have her own 'children' of sorts and a husband who really loves her. I think it's amazingly sweet that Carlisle remembered her from when she was sixteen to that time he saved her. *sighs* She's lucky to have what she'd wanted all along -- even if it isn't conventional at all. ^__^
in which there is nothing to say. xD Except maybe with these~

I absolutely love how she accepted Bella instantly. She just wanted her son happy. She balances out the family. Its hard for all of them to be around Bella tho. shes probably just not used to being around blood since shes shy she probably doesnt go around people.

Of course don't forget that vampires can't forget, he would have remembered her no matter what. But I get what you are saying.

I think of Esme more motherly than i think she is suppose to look. But what a perfect mother in law, (even though she could drain you of your life force in seconds) WAIT most mother in laws can do that! Hence i would take her as my mother in law any day :P

Okay, there is something bothering me about Esme, and its really confusing me about her character.
For those of you who have read the 'Extras' section for New Moon on stephenie's website,(is you havent's here's the link: http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/pdf/nm_extras_rosalie.pdf) This extract is from Rosalie's News (where Rosalie tells Edward that Bella has thrown herself off a cliff.):
"You have a family. Grow up and think about something besides yourself."
"Interesting advice, Rosalie. Let me tell you a little story about a pot and a kettle."
"I am thinking about them, unlike you. Dont you care how much you've hurt Esme, if no one else. She loves you more than the rest of us, and you know that. Come home."
I didn't answer.
"I thought once this whole Forks thing was finished, you would get over it."
"Forks was never the problem, Rosalie". I said, trying to be patient. What she said about Carlisle and Esme had struck a chord.
I was really confused about the bolded sentences. What is that supposed to mean? Does Esme actually have a thing for Edward? It doesn't seem very Esme to fall in love with her "son" when she's already married to a guy like Carlisle.

Any ideas?

(the extract is written in edward's perspective, by the way)

Rosalie is talking about a mother's love (much stronger than a sibling's love).

Until you actually are a mother (which I am) you can only imagine the strength of a true mother's dedication to their children. Unfortunately, today's media tries to convince women that "they can have it all"--career, home, children, hobbies, fantastic vacations, etc. Too many mothers pursue that goal, doing a great disservice to their children, who deserve all the concentrated, focused attention they can get. They will grow up and leave home soon enough. Even then, mothers never stop mothering--and I'm not talking about smothering or controlling.

Okay. Rant over. Esme does focus on her "children," and she is in pain when they are in pain. She worries about their happiness, and she works hard to help their family life stay harmonious.
"Where there is great love, there are always miracles."

i like esme a lot. her human life was sad, though, until she met carlisle. but, i'd like to get to know her more. we know all about carlisle, rosalie, jasper, edward, and alice. i'd like it if stephenie also put more esme AND emmett in the books!

Esme is a brilliant character, I think she's one of the most interesting ones in the book. She definitely deserves more 'air time', so to speak.
