ashFLASH wrote:I loved everything about this movie except for the actual plot. It was too long. The soundtrack was amazing. The costumes were beautiful. The actors were cast well. But it wasn't that great of a storyline

I agree mind.over.matter, Axel von Furson was HOT
I thought the same thing. The costumes and the soundtrack are great, but in some parts it does get a little slow. A lot of people I know didn't even finish watching it because they said it was too boring.

The guy who played Count Furson was a Calvin Klein model. :)

We're doing Marie Antoinette next in History, and my friend said we should watch the movie - BIG mistake. My History teacher went into a huge rant about how that movie was inadequate history, how it told nothing about what really happened, and how it depicted the royal family as good people when apparently they were flippin awful. I know in the movie it says she didnt say the 'well why dont they eat cake?' thing but i think i heard from lots of places that she did say that.

I like the movie, but i do think that the history was all..wrong, but its a good way to make it intresting, and if your not caring about the history of it then its good, yeah :) but the storyline does drag, alot!

We're watching it in French class, but our teacher isn't really talking about it. She's just like "Donc donc oui oui Marie Antoinette donc donc"
She doesn't make much sense.
(Donc means so)

I think it's a good movie if you just want to watch a movie, but if you want to watch it to get the historical facts, then it's probably not for you.

Yuk, that movie.. I hated it.
I saw it with my school before it was released in Norway.
Remember I just sat there and ... err, this is boring. Kirsten
Dunst did a great job though, but the movie didn't do it
for me. I thought it was boring.
Haha, now I just remebered a scene I loved; the scene
with Marie and that charming prince of hers laying the
bed supposed to have sex. Haha, that scene was GREAT.
One of the few high lights in the movie.
I've already heard this before.

I researched it after, because I watched the special features and it was really interesting.... They can't prove she ever said "let them eat cake"
If you wiki pedia it it talks about how it was a propaganda issue back in the day and how it was published in a newspaper(the saying) but that they actually think another princess said it and not her at all. After researching it etc, I would have to say I believe she never said that.
