I added Penelope to our Netflix but who knows when it will arrive.

Jumper 2? I never saw Jumper 1 but I know people who didn't care for it, did anyone enjoy it? I have also heard that Hancock was a let down - at least the critics really disliked it. I read a bit about it and it seems that it is not what it originally marketed to be. But it sounds interesting to me.

Yay gutter! (Even if it may close tonight at midnight. Who knows what's going on.)

But I agree - I think Jenks said it? Just seeing the purple screen sooths me. It's like my drug. Even if I can't post, just seeing the pretty purple screen calms my erratic, senseless beating heart. Sigh...

ETA: I AM glad it appears to be staying read-only, regardless of what happens to the gutter: we can still check our PMs!!

GNE: I will be running down to Target in a bit to buy it $16 dollars is not that much. Even if we don't like it I can usually sell it on half.com for more than I paid for it because of other countries trying to get it ahead of their own release.

As for the BD cover and Chess well I play a lot in fact my 5 year old is starting to give me some good defense strategy. He is going to be better than me. Anyways back to the cover the pond is on a white square and although ominous the queen really can't take the pond from this position. I think no chess strategy was used in the cover. Although you could be looking at the queen from the King's point of view and in this case she could be in front of the King to protect it from something in front of her that we can't see.

GNE: On the Snugglybear I found you that's the guy who is playing Emmett for the TW movie.

I saw Jumper and I thought it pretty much sucked. Except that Hayden is kind of pretty. And then you had Kristen at the end. Also, I love Diane Lane so would love to see her in an expanded role if there is another film.

I found info on Jumper 2 at IMDB.com. They say it is to be released in 2011. There is some controversy about whether or not there is really going to be a sequel on the Message Board about it, but it was left quite open ended and while I don't think it broke any box office records, I guess it did "okay."

I have put Penelope at the top of my queue so hope it comes soon. I wanted to see it regardless of the Twilight scenes.

As for the cover of BD, I didn't really mean that the cover itself had any meaning, but more the idea of the chess board and the pieces that were used in the cover were being done to convey some meaning about what might happen in the book. Again, I go back to the strategery thing.

A theory of mine is that it will have to do with the Volturi (msp?) and also the Denali coven. Kind of a bit of a game of cat and mouse. I can see that after Bella is changed she has some exceptionally awesome power and the Volturi want to have her use it for them. And Edward wants to protect her from them. And they take Jake somehow and Bella and Edward have to go save him. Or something along those lines.

Honestly, I don't really care about the plot that much because I truly trust Stephenie and her love of Bella and Edward so whatever she decides (please don't disappoint me!) to do with their story will be okay with me. I hope.

Sidebar: I read a really good fan fiction last night that had to do with Tanya and her family. It took place pre-Bella in the Cullen's world and had all the Denali women vying for Edward. Actually, it started out that they wanted all of the men in the Cullen family, but after getting to know the Cullens, they decided that the others were off limits since they already had mates. I can't recall the name of the story, but I found it in the recommendation thread in this forum.

I've become obesessed with fan fiction while I wait for August 2nd!

Yeah, Misfit, I recognized Kellan Lutz. Mmmhmmm I recognized him alright. Thanks again. That might be my favorite pic of him yet. The first thing I noticed about him, though, was his Edward-ish hair. Me likey.

I will head to video store later and see if I can get Penelope; if not, I won't cry. I'll come out iwth a book or something. I never leave Hastings empty-handed.

Just noticed (did someone already comment on it?) that there are a few other forums open. The Great Debate has remained open as has the Release Party Plaza.

Wonder if we get till Midnight?

Jenks - was it Fair Game by Eowyn77? If it is, you should read Overnighter, the sequel. It has Bella in it with the Denali women again. I love Eowyn's stuff!

There are some really fantastic fan fictions out there. Sometimes they are hard to find - but well worth tracking down.

When I first found this site I was a fan fiction reading machine. I've relaxed into reading ones that I feel are really good and stopped trying to finish ones that started out good and went downhill. The communities helped me narrow down my searches, you can always try that.
