Just reading your responses is making my crush for V worse (or better, depending how you look at it) and I am only on book 2!

On the plus side Hubby is planning on being home early tonight  and he promised to buy me book 4 tomorrow!

I am cheating and reading all the spoilers, but don't worry, it is just making me more excited to read the books.

I agree that Wrath probably limits his literary intake to snuggle time with Beth, while she reads to him, especially given how hard he has to strain to read what he's required to as king.

I think V would read anything, although, if he didn't respect whoever made the suggestion, or the teaser on the back seemed ridiculous to him, I don't think he'd waste his time on it.

I can completely see Butch sticking to lighter fare, but I bet that he'd read anything Marissa asked him to, even if it was a struggle. Then again, he's cleaned up nicely lately, of his own free will, so maybe he's just waiting for a visit from the culture fairy.

I think Z will be a voracious reader once he improves his skills, like V. He's reinventing himself. Give him time.

Phury probably has a nice collection, but it must be hard for him to stay focused for long. He's got way too much on his mind, and doesn't sit still well, unless he's smoking Reds (in which case, his brain's too busy with other things and he's numbing out).

I like to think of Rhage as a closet intellectual. In his book, after Mary kicks him out of her house, he tells Butch she used, "An unflattering comparison between me and a free-agent canine." When he's not using slang, he's very articulate. The brother's got a quick mind, nice vocabulary, and a gift for metaphor. Yum!

Yes, all the boys are quite brilliant in their own, lovely, and unique way. But I guess living 300+ years you get quite some life experience under your belt, which must add to your intelligence (one would hope).

@Nissanmama You would be proud of me! So far my self-control is excellent! I'm trying to finish HP 7 before I start the rest of the BDB books (although they are looking very nice, very colorful, and very pretty on my shelf....ah, such pristine spines...).

Oh!!! And have you guys watched the videos with Ms. Ward herself being interviewed!!?? I LOVE HER!!!! She's so friggin' cool, um, yeah, I want to be her when I grow up. :-D

Ok I'm 1/2 way through V's book and I haven't had any time to read today. I've been so good not coming over here but I just HAD to today. Luckily there wasn't anything I didn't already know though.

I'm hopefully going to finish it tomorrow so I can come and enjoy the rest of the conversation with you lovely ladies!

Unfortunately, none of those products would have helped Marissa; It is not pleasure as such that their body craves, but the need to reproduce as we find out in Bella's time of needing only full baking with male... er finishing brings relief.

@amontilado Yes, I figured, that was just my lame attempt at being funny. :)

ETA: Yes, I have given up on avoiding the spoilers. Lilac-and-lavender you are right, it doesn't really ruin it but make it all the more exciting to read, oooh the anticipation.

At least NONE OF YOU CAN SPOIL BOOK 6 FOR ME!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I just finished Z's book about 20 minutes ago. I'm worn out from the crying and and anxiety. Yes, I cried. I had to sneak off into the bedroom to read in private. I was stressing over what would become of him and Bella. I think Rhage is still my favorite. It's a toss up between him & Zsadist.

I just wanted to announce I've read #3. I won't return to this thread until I finish #5.

Like my avi? Which Bella do I mean...hmm? Maybe both.

I am wholly impressed. HP 7 was very good though. I'm glad it came out before I found the BDB so I could enjoy it without that rainbow looking down at me from the shelf.

I was really impressed by what she said about alpha males and having fun, like with the potato gun. Don't we love their boyishness natures as much as the tenderness and animalistic tendencies?

I pretended a couple of times in my car that Josh Groban was Z singing. What other tenors do you imagine could be the voice of our angel?

I'm completely obsessing about this reading thing, but I've got my Rhage quote (from his book, p. 202):

"She wandered over to the bookshelves, where leather bound volumes in foreign languages stood straight and proud. She scanned the titles with appreciation until she ran into a collection of DVDs."

See? The man's a reader! Well, alright!!!!

Ok, I did it, I finally caved!!! Came at about 2am this morning, I stayed up late trying to get through HP 7, and I realized I was forcing myself to read it.

Heck, I'm going to be forcing myself to read enough for the next 6 months...so Rhage with his shiny blue cover tempted me. :)

Hehe, yes Spooncha, I loved that quote. It sounds like my bookshelf!!!! All these "impressive" books, also in another language (I used to be a Spanish major), and then my own crazy DVD collection (frighteningly similar to his).

Hmmmm, what tenor sounds like Z? Gosh, that's a toughie. I always imagine Z having his own unique lovely voice.
