Yeah, I think I'll wait until it comes out on DVD. Same with Pirates III and Spidey III -- wow, it's the year of trilogies, isn't it? Ocean's 13, too.

I believe it was Fillion who started the "Summer!" thing (and also the flip-off he has (had?) with Jewel Staite :D ).

I think the story goes that Summer Glau, who doesn't usually mess up, made a mistake after a long take that everyone else had done perfectly, so Fillion yelled, "Summer!". And then on the next take someone else messed up and Fillion yelled, "Summer!" again... And it stuck.

"I love my captain."

I forgot the flip-off...

I'll buy the DVD, definitely. Fillion!

So, Fillion presented the Saturn award, Filmmaker Showcase, to James Gunn (Writer/director of Slither, writer of the Dawn of the Dead remake, Tromeo and Juliet, the two live-action Scooby movies, The Specials, and the novel 'The Toy Collector', among other things). I have pictures! They were included in James Gunn's blog. Um...I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post pictures from his blog...but, if you add him, you can read them. He and Nathan Fillion are apparently good friends.

Here's a link to his profile; Be forewarned. He suffers from potty-mouth-itis. His blogs can be hilarious.

(The latest blog has the Saturn/Fillion pictures)

I've never seen that show. I wonder when he'll be back on.

They didn't even get a full first season. Sigh.

I saw Waitress last night. I liked it quite a bit. It's a little bit sad, sweet and hopeful throughout -- and I think most of the characters come off 3-dimensional; no one is wholly good or bad (although the husband comes close). And the story of finding yourself or the strength to change has been done before, but Waitress puts a slightly different spin on it, with the way it tells its story. And there's pie. So much pie! Awesomeness. :D

Someone on my flist didn't like it because they didn't think it portrayed the South accurately enough, which it may have done, but I don't know enough about the South to have an opinion on that. Plus, all the adultery, which generally bothers me too, but not so much in this movie because I knew about it beforehand and the way it was set up... It didn't glorify adultery, I don't think; although, at the same time, it didn't really make any moral judgements about it either -- the adulterers weren't vilified and each had their reasons; you could understand maybe why they chose to cheat, even if you don't condone infidelity or agree with their decisions.[/mild spoiler]

All in all, I thought it was a very good movie that's a little slow paced and more think-y than action. I would recommend watching it. Be warned, though, that you may have a craving for pie after...

And Nathan Fillion in this is unlike any Fillion I've seen before. (Although, I've only really seen him in Firefly, Buffy and the odd episode of 2 Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place). His eyes? So blue in this movie. Sigh.

I have already been bugging that husband of mine to go see this movie. Heh-he likes these actors and ideals so he can enjoy them and I can enjoy the scenery

I guess the cast of firefly does sci-fi conventions still too. *ponders* I must make it to one of them. Stargate and Firefly heaven 8)
