I mean, I was too embarrassed to ask my mom to pick it up after work for me, in case she thought I was a) going goth (I am the opposite of goth. trust me.) or b) i was getting into a way too sexy or racy series. neither of those are true! so i was forced to go to the supermarket with my mom and head over to the magazine section and then run off to buy it (i even used self-check out to avoid the judging eyes of the cashier) and then hid it in my bag before going up to my room to read it alone. I'm still completely bewildered why they chose that cover. It's so wrong.
On a different note, do any of you guys have the following problem: when you're trying to get someone into the series, and they ask "what's it about?" and you have NO idea what to say, because usually whenever people hear the word "vampires" they automatically shrink back. I think it's rather funny :D But then I always convince them it's not what they think and they end up loving it!
i so did the same thing! i ran into walmart, alone because i was too scared to take my mom, went to the magazine section and they didnt even have it! i was so mad. i walked by the cashiers really fast looking at all the stands, but none of them had it. after i planned the Self Checkout scheme and everything.

me=sad because i still havent gotten the magazine.

and im also the opposite of goth, so i never took the book to school for fear of my classmates judging me like they did to someone else. whatever happened to 'Dont Judge a Book By It's Cover"? but, for The Host, i just took the cover off and took it to school. it easily looked like a Harry Potter book, so i was good to go lol

All I have to say is:

Thank the Lord for Self-Check Out Stands in stores.

I know! Call me weird, but I always feel so self-concious whenever we use a cashier...they judge you I swear! Lol.
But yeah, self check out stands are my lifesaver!

I feel the same way! I mean they just look at the products you are buying, and judge you! haha like when us girls want to buy the magazine Cosmopolitan, well it's a pretty "mature" magazine, and the cashier will always give us this look. It's sooooooo embarrassing. So we just go through self check out and are on our way.

I think he's absolutely, unbelieveably amazing, with all of his imperfections, quirks, and protectiveness. Bella's one lucky girl, not because Edward is beautiful [though he is], but because [to me] Edward is the ideal man; he's not perfect, but that's essentially what makes him a "person."
I agree. If more men were like Edward, the world would be a happier place. =)
Not really. then there would be alot more overprotective people. And very serious people. I just don't think the world would be better.

I see your point Aro; then again, some girls love how Edward is, so for them, the world would be better/nicer.
Even with more Jacobs, the world would be nicer. (:
That's just what I think, though.

Well I am team Edward. But I love Jacob too...to a point. I don't think being goth is so bad... I hope that if my son goes that way when he becomes a teenager that that isn't the worst he could do. Our baby sitter's oldest daughter is of the goth pursuasion and she's friendly and fine. We trust her to babysit our 3 yo.

Heck I went to a goth store....Hot Topic at our mall and I bought my vamp makeup there for the Breaking Dawn premier just a few days ago!

Oh yes, I love Edward. There is nothing not to love. He is everything a girl could want. He is so overprotective of Bella and I know a lot of girls wouldn't like that. Personally I would LOVE that. He is so considerate and caring and would do anything for her. How many guys are truly like that these days? They are all talk most of the time.

I get really annoyed sometimes when Bella defies him in some way i.e. he asks her to do something for her, she'll do the opposite. He is only trying to protect her. Bella, I'll swap lives with you!

Oh my gosh I feel the exact same way! Some girls really annoy me when they say stuff like "She can open the door herself! Geez let her do something on her own for a change!" Personally, I would LOVE it if every guy would open doors for a girl. It's not misogynistic, it's polite.
