I don't know. I don't think it will lose its human edge because Bella would be such a new vampire. And even though I love the suspense on when Stephenie is going to change her I also like the 'romantic'(for lackj of better word) edge to it. I think as long as she can keep us in suspense and guessing and make you feel the attachment to her characters that the book with still be good.

Stephenie is incredibly talented. I don't think we have to worry about the books being relatable.

This was one of my fears too--that once Bella is turned, an aspect of their relationship will be gone. Yes, her blood wont be there, but they will be able to finally be close and un-afraid of hurting each other. Edward can finally be himself and be able to touch Bella without being afraid of killing her! However, the fact that she is human is a BIG aspect of their relationship--it is what brought Edward to her, and what made him fall in love with her--her blushing, her responces, her being a clutz--No matter what, though--Bella will be Bella--HOPEFULLY. Thats another thing--will Bella lose who she is in the VAMP transition?

Im a little scared about the narrator switch--I just hope that we still will be informed on Edward and Bella's story!!

So yea I don't think it will lose its human edge anytime soon. There is still Charlie.

It might lose it's human edge but didn't Stephanie say that breaking dawn was going to be the last book? So it would kind of put a piece of mind that they stay together forever as two vampires and the new moon senerio is not played over again!

humanity

I don't think it would lose it's human edge. Stephenie Meyer has stated several times that even though her books are about fantasy and sci-fi topics, in the end they are about humans and human characteristics. What drew me most toward Twilight wasn't that a human fell in love with a vampire, but rather that the vampire had human qualities (the ability to love someone more than himself, jealousy, conflict, uncertainty, etc.).

If/when Bella is changed into a vampire I think that she will retain many of her human characteristics, which will show that humanity can still exist under extraordinary circumstances.

Totally agree with you. Bella is still going to be Bella even if she is a vampire. Yes it is a big change and she will struggle for a while until she can learn to control herself like the Cullens. But i think it is going to be VERY VERY interesting to see Bella change and how she handles becoming a vampire. Finally her and Edward can be together forever. We all want a happy ending dont we?
And I heard if Stephenie continues the series it might be thru Jacob narrating. Edward and Bella's story will only end in the sense that Bella will not be narrating. But i think this great love story deserves a happy ending with Edward and Bella ending up together as vampires. I would be disappointed if the story ended any other way.

I think it would be a perfect ending - for Bella to change and stay with Edward forever and ever... and ever.

And I don't think it will be the least bit boring, either. Their lives will continue to evolve, their relationship/bond will continue to grow stronger throughout the years, decades, centuries. Even if we don't know what the rest of eternity holds for them, they'll be happy because they'll be together.

And as for the "human" aspect, I think... it'll be interesting. I forget which book I should be quoting from, but someone mentions that they've never known a person to change themselves willingly, to know about the transformation before. Edward did mention in Twilight that he doesn't remember a lot of his human past - maybe it'll be different for Bella because she's willingly giving up her humanity - she knows what's coming. Maybe she can hold onto her human-ish aspects, her memories/girl-dreams.

And I think we're all so invested in Bella - as a human, no matter what kind of vampire she comes out as, we'll be looking for signs of the human girl... within.

I think it would lose it's human edge, as bella is as clumsy as a human can be, and vampires are surreal..

The story has a lot of humanity in it. It is about people (vampires) struggling against their nature to do what they believe is the right thing. Carlisle and the rest of the Cullens are the essence of humane. If anything when (or if) Bella is turned the story will become focused more so on humanity and her struggle to keep it.
