Oh God, it's so nice to know I'm not the only freak who says "Carl-leese-el." I keep trying to pronounce it like "Car-lyle," but I'm so used to the other way that now it sounds weird :P lol, now I think of it, in elementary school's my teachers were always like, "Skip names on the tests, they don't matter!" So I never really bother nowadays to read names that closely

And I was under the impression that you say "Lee-ah"...

I thought Carlisle was 'Car-lis-l', with a silent 'E'. I also always thought Leah was 'Lei', as in those flower necklace things.

I too pronounced Carlisle the way it's written and it sounded extremely stupid. xD I pronounced Quileute like "Queue-let".
"Your father told me to never step through his doorway again, but technically I came through the window. But still, the intention was clear"

Glad I know all the correct pronunciations, but I continue to pronounce certain things the wrong way, knowingly.

My incorrect pronunciations...

Esme... Es-mee
Quileute... Quil-et (et sounding like 'gET')
La Push... so simple, yet I always say La-poosh

This might just be me, but yesterday I was around some people from the north and a girl said "Holy Crow"

I think Bella says this in the books, but I was wondering how everybody else said it. In Texas, we just say Holy Cow. So I pictured crow with the ow sound as in cow, how, couch... and not crow like slow, mow, though....

that make sense? How do you pronounce it?

Resident Latin geek here...

The "ai" in "Caius" sounds like the letter "I". Then just add "us" to the end and there you have it. Caius.

Interestingly enough, in Classical Latin, the names Gaius and Caius were pronounced the same. Both sounded like "Gaius" despite the "c" on the latter.
