I think she would fall apart (like I would!) and will be depressed maybe to the point of suicide. After all, it would be so much worse if edward died rather then left. Bella said in NM that she needed to know that he still existed out there somewhere for her to live. I think the thought of suicide would enter her mind many times, but I can only hope she sticks in there. I don't think Steph. would make Bella die though, this is a young adult novel and that would be way to...extreme for young adults.

Isn't that a Linkin Park song? hahahrapid_reader wrote:Has anyone listened to My Chemical Romance's song 'Leave Out All The Rest'? it's really sad, but I think it might be a good playlist song if Edward does die (shutter).
I agree! Especially with the Harry Potter part. The series would have no more meaning without Edward in my opinion.rapid_reader wrote:That would be HORRIBLE!![]()
It would be like Harry Potter dieing in Deathly Hallows. It can't happen! For the sake of us and the sake of our hearts staying in one piece! If Edward died I think my and Bella's reaction would be somewhat similar.
But what would happen if he died? Would the Volutri change Bella into a vampire? Using her to work for them? Would Bella just be forgotten? With all the danger gone and Edward dead (shutter)? Would she run away and live with Renee? What would happen?

Edward Dying
First of all, can we please spell dying correctly? (Note thread name) For the sake of my sanity?
Edward dying I think is pretty unrealistic. Let's examine the books. When Edward left Bella, we got the depressed Bella/heartbroken fans/New Moon generally being in spot #3 of favorite Twilight book (that's just what I've noticed, I'm not saying by any means that's true for all of us). We, as a fanbase, have already suffered big time with Bella. She was virtually dead when he LEFT her. And if he DIED... the entire book would be totally out of whack. I think Bella would die also, like the dogs at the end of Where The Red Ferns Grow.
It's just not logical. Edward was already close to death once, and I don't think that would happen again.

Re: Edward Dying
Exackly! Here Here! No one wants to go through the heartbreak of Edward dying. No one. Remember what Steph. said about NM, how she was often living Bella's pain through her own tears? I don't think she wants to go through that pain again.Luminescence wrote:First of all, can we please spell dying correctly? (Note thread name) For the sake of my sanity?

People keep comparing Edward and Bella to those two stories Romeo + Juliet and Pride and Prejudice.
I think that the Romeo and Juliet influence was in New Moon, and it's pretty much gone now.
I still think Edward won't die.
Because that leaves the story with no original meaning, and how many stories do you know have one main character dieing and the other commiting suicide (other than Romeo and Juliet influenced tales)
Not in teen fiction.
Bare in mind these are essentially younger people books.
The hero never dies
hahaha
...yes, I'm making excuses for him not to haha. I don't want him to =[

yes exackly! It's to extreme for a YA novel. I don't think it should or will happen. Edward is beloved by all and it would ruin the series.ashleydash wrote:People keep comparing Edward and Bella to those two stories Romeo + Juliet and Pride and Prejudice.

Whenever something negative comes up I think it's always an excellent idea to turn to what I think has pretty much become the official lexicon mantra...
Stephenie likes happy endings, Stephenie likes happy endings, Stephenie likes happy endings...
Honestly, I don't think there's much chance at all of Stephenie killing off Edward. I really don't.
