For the longest time, I was Team Edward.
But after a heated discussion over at EW today, this quote popped up, and I've changed my mind.
"Love worth dieing for is beautiful."
-------
"You know what's even more beautiful? Life worth living for. Worth living through hardship and sadness for. Worth experiencing change and loss and real joy for. Bella will never have that with Edward; she'd just be an unchanging, perfect vampire with none of the difficult experiences that make life real and intense and make love deeper and truer. With Jacob, she'd really live."
That really goes deep. No phrase can ever match up to that on the E/B sideline. It's so beautiful... I wish I'd though of it myself.
And anyways, while I still sort of hate Jake, I know where I stand. Team "Bella is really whiny and needy so she deserves no one". In BD, Edward will get the girl. But in the end, Jacob has won the war. Bella is doing him a favor by dumping him. She doesn't deserve him. At all. I hope he can overcome her and go back to living normally.

Sure. But Bella and edward never developed real love. They went from mutual attraction to 'I'd risk my cover as a vampire for you/I'd leave my life and change into a vampire to be with you' in such little time that no real love could've developed. Obsession can be that immediate. Love can't. I love my family, but that's partly because i've had all my life to grow to care about them so much. Bella and Edward were already in what they called 'deep, true, irrevocable love' in under a month. Real loving emtions don't work like that, but obsessive tendencies, which the parties suffering can mistake for ddep love, do. That's all.
Damn straight!
It's lust, not love.
E/B's relationship is sort of like, I don't know, a frozen Uncrustable peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a kid's lunch bag. It's made really quick and it tastes really good, but you didn't make it yourself. Other factors made it (aka the smell of blood, looks, dazzlement, old-fashioned cadences). However, J/B's relationship is a homemade pb&j sandwich in a kid's lunch bag. It takes longer to make... but in the end it still tastes sort of the same. Maybe even better. And yeah, the sandwich may not be perfect, unlike the Uncrustable (there could be too much pb and not enough j), but in the end it still tastes good. Because it was made with love. Someone actually cared enough about you to take the time to hand make a sandwich. With the Uncrustable, all you have to do is take it out of the freezer and throw it in the lunch bag.
When Bella almost got run over by that car, all he could think of was "not her".
Why not her?? What led him to be in love with her, when he only saw her for two days? He only had one conversation with her, and all she did was talk about how she hated Forks and why she came here.
Somebody, please, show me how someone could fall in love just like that. Find evidence within those pages that could prove how they could fall in love. Would you go up to a random guy on the street, talk about the weather and why your on that street, and fall automatically in love? I think not.

Honey, the truth hurts.
I didn't want to believe it myself, but yeah.
