for me this is hard to decide.
Edward is my favorite.
But jacob is a very close second.
I DO think that Jacob would have been a better choice for her, she would be able to live and have a normal life and everything, but she chose edward. And i wouldnt want her to change that.

So since she has chosen Edward, i think id have to go with Bedward, but i do NOT want her to go back to Jacob then even if he would have been a better choice...

Its all very confusing you see...

i love Jake.... more so than Edward... but i got love for both.

i'm naturally inclined to like underdogs, and Jake is one. you guys underestimate him a lot, i think. hopefully Bella wakes up and realizes what he had all along! they might not end up together but... i hope some middle ground is met.
The Dark Knight = MASTERFUL.

Patiently waiting for ... Breaking Dawn and Twilight the Movie!

Its weird because I actually agree with Jake in a way.

She is in love with him, and together they would be a good couple. If life was simple, and none of these myths existed, then they probably would have been together.

But that isn't the case, and Edward and Bella are absolutely too perfect for eachother. Neither can fight it, and the only reason Bella didn't absolutely die the first time he left is because of Charlie.

I totally understand how Bella forgave Edward for leaving and didn't grill him like a lot of people said to do, because as much as she may have tried to be mad, how could she get angry with him for trying to protect her and loving her that much. He thought he was doing the right thing.

Jusea wrote:KT, I suppose in some forms many different people receive an Edward and a Jacob, to which do you choose? That is up to you. It's harder when you do love both of them.

And sure Jacob would be able to keep her alive and they could have children, but to me they'd both be settling. Bella, before she sees Carlisle's car in NM is thinking that since she can't be with Edward, Jacob is good too. Jacob wants to be with Bella who isn't as in love with him as he with her. I hope that made sense.

That is a good point. Edward and Bella do argue. They get mad at each other, but they work it out. Sometimes he gives, other times she does. And they compromise. Jacob and Bella have argued too and they do work it out as well.

Breathe Bella, I really like how you described Edward with his personality. You did it far better than I would have. He does have his fun side, but he is also got the serious, studious one. Jacob is more of the fun side. And Bella does have an old soul, which is why perhaps her and Edward seem to work.

Bella/Edward and Bella/Jacob are different and yet have very similar characteristics. Bella can be happy with both. Jacob provides certain things that Edward can't give. But Bella has certain things with Edward that Jacob can't give. It's hard to explain to the heart things that should be logical. Love can't be looked at logically as Bella notices. The magnet analogy works really well. Bella can't be both of them--to merge her relationships with the two guys would probably equate into a perfect one, however unrealistic.

Stephanie Meyer shows us that Bella does have two loves, but Edward is the one that Bella can't be without. When Edward left, half of her left, Jacob helped heal it, but he didn't replace that part of the soul.

Okay, I'm not sure how much of that completely made sense. I have a lot in my head and I don't know how much made it on here making sense, so I'll stop here.
I agree with you completely!
I love how you said this; you're very respectful to both Jake and Edward.
I know this is short, but you just said everything so nicely.
"Do I dazzle you?"
"Frequently."

But after a heated discussion over at EW today, this quote popped up, and I've changed my mind.

"Love worth dieing for is beautiful."

"You know what's even more beautiful? [A SINGLE LETTER? WHY ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE USE A SINGLE LETTER TO REPLACE AN ENTIRE WORD?????????]Life worth living for.[/A SINGLE LETTER? WHY ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE USE A SINGLE LETTER TO REPLACE AN ENTIRE WORD?????????] Worth living through hardship and sadness for. Worth experiencing change and loss and real joy for. Bella will never have that with Edward; she'd just be an unchanging, perfect vampire with none of the difficult experiences that make life real and intense and make love deeper and truer. With Jacob, she'd really live."

That really goes deep. No phrase can ever match up to that on the E/B sideline. It's so beautiful... I wish I'd though of it myself.

And anyways, while I still sort of hate Jake, I know where I stand. Team "Bella is really whiny and needy so she deserves no one". In BD, Edward will get the girl. But in the end, Jacob has won the war. Bella is doing him a favor by dumping him. She doesn't deserve him. At all. I hope he can overcome her and go back to living normally.

Crusader For Literature wrote: Sure. But Bella and edward never developed real love. They went from mutual attraction to 'I'd risk my cover as a vampire for you/I'd leave my life and change into a vampire to be with you' in such little time that no real love could've developed. Obsession can be that immediate. Love can't. I love my family, but that's partly because i've had all my life to grow to care about them so much. Bella and Edward were already in what they called 'deep, true, irrevocable love' in under a month. Real loving emtions don't work like that, but obsessive tendencies, which the parties suffering can mistake for ddep love, do. That's all.
Damn straight!
It's lust, not love.
E/B's relationship is sort of like, I don't know, a frozen Uncrustable peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a kid's lunch bag. It's made really quick and it tastes really good, but you didn't make it yourself. Other factors made it (aka the smell of blood, looks, dazzlement, old-fashioned cadences). However, J/B's relationship is a homemade pb&j sandwich in a kid's lunch bag. It takes longer to make... but in the end it still tastes sort of the same. Maybe even better. And yeah, the sandwich may not be perfect, unlike the Uncrustable (there could be too much pb and not enough j), but in the end it still tastes good. Because it was made with love. Someone actually cared enough about you to take the time to hand make a sandwich. With the Uncrustable, all you have to do is take it out of the freezer and throw it in the lunch bag.

When Bella almost got run over by that car, all he could think of was "not her". [A SINGLE LETTER? WHY ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE USE A SINGLE LETTER TO REPLACE AN ENTIRE WORD?????????]Why not her??[/A SINGLE LETTER? WHY ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE USE A SINGLE LETTER TO REPLACE AN ENTIRE WORD?????????] What led him to be in love with her, when he only saw her for two days? He only had one conversation with her, and all she did was talk about how she hated Forks and why she came here. Somebody, please, show me how someone could fall in love just like that. Find evidence within those pages that could prove how they could fall in love. Would you go up to a random guy on the street, talk about the weather and why your on that street, and fall automatically in love? I think not.

Honey, the truth hurts.
I didn't want to believe it myself, but yeah.
Okay, about this part.

"Somebody, please, show me how someone could fall in love just like that."

I guess you guys didn't noticed this book is well, a BOOK! Anything can happen in books, and it's not real anyways! There aren't really werewolves and vampires! They don't really fall in love with each other!

THIS IS WHY, MY FRIENDS, THAT TWILIGHT,NM,& Eclipse ARE BOOKS!

The people who keep saying that there is no evidence that they fell in love, have you falllen in love? Because there really is no formula or specific way to do it. It just happens. It starts with a small attraction, and as you get to know eachother, it grows into something more. Sometimes you just kind of know, though. You have this gut feeling about a person. Not just based on their looks. You get this vibe. That's what they call love at first sight. Now, Bella and Edward started out with a crush, they spent the day with eachother in the meadow, they had dinner with eachother at port angeles, they went to the prom together, they met eachother's families, and they talked about eachother's feelings, life, fears, and pains with eachother. PLus the fact that they just have that instinctual gut feeling about eachother. How is it hard to say that they fell in love?
It may be hard for some poeple to tell, I suppose, because they haven't experienced it themselves, but isn't it kind of obvious?

I know it won't happen, but I prefer Jacob because it means Bella doesn't have to die. Because, no matter how you slice it, you die when you become a vampire.

Agreed!

I think that was me. Do you mean EW, the emmawatson.net forum or the debate over at Entertainment weekly? I swear I've said that before. I was "Molly" on the Entertainment Weekly thing. I meant to say "Love worth living for."

I agree 100%
I really don't want Bella to "die" and just run off with Edward, I would be happy if she told her parents about it and took her chances with The Volturi.
