Jacob won me over in this book -seriously. I mean, I still love Edward, but Jacob is right up there too. Poor kid goes through so much stuff. And, truly, you don't find guys like him that often who are willing to go with all that happened and still stick around and still love the girl. Jake is very special and I really hope he gets a happy ending. <3
Bestiality is one step above necrophilia.

I don't understand why people feel they have to choose just one. They can like Edward and hate Jake, or Like Jake, and Hate Ed.

I for one and perfectly comfortable with saying I adore the PANTS off BOTH those boys!

I think Bella just ignored the subject because she cared for him so much, and wasn't sure if she would always turn him down romantically so she let it slide because she didn't want to lose him. Anyways... I have to say the only time I ever rooted for Jacob was when he was sleeping after he saved her and I thought....you should just kiss him! Then I reminded myself that I loved Edward too much, not Jacob. And I was done with that. Go Edward! woowoowoowoo! okay that was dumb oh well.

True that.

I am a sixteen year old girl and therefore surrounded by sixteen year old boys constantly. Trust me when I say that Jacob is rare.

I also have to say that I *like* his imperfections. Unlike Edward, he's not this unreachable god of perfection, he's just Jake, who happens to be a talented werewolf, lol.

That said, I adore the pants off both of them as well... ;)

I think I just love Edward too much to indulge in Jacob.

I have to be honest, at the end of Twilight...this kid got on my nerve! I was sooooo made he went to the prom and took her, even if for an instant, from Edward's arms...I felt like I could slap him! I never hated him...but he annoyed me...

Then...BAM! New Moon. All of a sudden I loved him to death! This is when I agree with you isilmeferrard...I truely became a Jacob fan, and heck...Edward was not there! That was personal to me...I could not understand why he was gone for such a long time...so you had Jacob and all his wonderfull self...perfect!

I think the reason he turned so bitter, at least at first was because he was afraid that Bella wouldn't love him anymore, even if it was a 'friends' love, he knew she cared for him...and he was frustrated to think she would turn her back on him once she found out who he really was now. He wasn't a regular everyday human anymore...he was more up the alley of the man who hurt Bella in the first place...sort of like a monster and he thought this is the only thing Bella would see. So, he was bitter.

Then you can see how things relax between them, once Bella tells him she accepts him regardless. He kind of falls back into the sweet role. Much more protective and careful, but then again I dont' blame him for trying to keep his emotions on check...he could hurt Bella so easily now.

Right when you can see who good things are between them again...BAM, a vampire walks back into Bella's life...to take her away no less. Of course he is going to be frustrated, mad and even hurt this time. Bella left him...he was there with open arms and she walked away. Sad.

She basically walked all over his heart...and I am guessing some of his pride too.

Then...she finally comes back, and he believes that the reason she is not going up to his place to see him, to talk to him...is because the one thing he hates the most doesn't allow her to do so, Edward. Again...of course he is mad...but you could tell how things smoothed even if just for a second when Bella told him the reason she was not able to visit.

Poor poor Jacob, my heart goes out to him really. I don't think that he changed all the much, it just must be THAT much harder to keep it together now that he has all these new powers to think about. He just missed Bella...the opportunity to love Bella... *sigh*or at least that is what I think.

Perfectly written (:
Poor Jacob was basically torn apart.
His love for Bella, and the need to not hurt her, emotionally and physically.
And his duties to his tribe, and his brothers.

The poor kids only 16. He shouldn't have to go through all this.
I kind of just want to hug him and tell him it'll all be alright :(

Wow I really couldn't agree with you two more.my thoughts exactly. ^_^

edit: And pssht, he can call me honey any day. :p

I think he was just trying to say to Bella "I like you," or something like that in a subtle way.

My friend Colin used to do that when I met him (after I kind of snapped at him for it, he hasn't done it again :P) - he does it to all of the girls that I know he talks to . . . it was werid taht Bella never reacted, though. Not one thought crossed her mind, that we read about, about him calling her that.

Ya, that bugged me too! I know Bella's and Jake's relationship is supposed to be a special one, not as deep as romance but still very deep, but I just don't like it. If it were me, I wouldn't like being called "honey" all the time by my best friend. Call me a prude (grrr...don't or I'll bite) but I think the term "honey" is something that should be reserved only for a parent's or sweetheart's use. I feel kind of jealous for Edward!
