Oh well I adore Jake as well! Ever since the first book I really enjoyed when ever he'd enter the scene.

ya, i liked him (of course i have to admit i like edward more) but jake has a sort of sweetness about him and i think it was cute when he called her honey:-)

Hmph...more 16 year old boys need to be like Jacob >_> goodness knows I'd haul my bum to school more often if they were.

I loved pre-werewolf Jacob. He was so open and kind and sweet and happy. (too many 'and's there but whatever). After the transformation, I still liked him, but he's so angry all the time. Obviously he has license to be, and he's still a sweet guy, but...

I think I just love Edward too much to indulge in Jacob.
Remember when we scratched our names into the sand
And you told me you loved me
But now that I find
That you've changed your mind
I'm lost for words
Everything I feel for you I wrote down on one piece of paper
The one in your hand
You won't understand
How much it hurts to let you go

I have to be honest, at the end of Twilight...this kid got on my nerve! I was sooooo made he went to the prom and took her, even if for an instant, from Edward's arms...I felt like I could slap him! I never hated him...but he annoyed me...

Then...BAM! New Moon. All of a sudden I loved him to death! This is when I agree with you isilmeferrard...I truely became a Jacob fan, and heck...Edward was not there! That was personal to me...I could not understand why he was gone for such a long time...so you had Jacob and all his wonderfull self...perfect!

I think the reason he turned so bitter, at least at first was because he was afraid that Bella wouldn't love him anymore, even if it was a 'friends' love, he knew she cared for him...and he was frustrated to think she would turn her back on him once she found out who he really was now. He wasn't a regular everyday human anymore...he was more up the alley of the man who hurt Bella in the first place...sort of like a monster and he thought this is the only thing Bella would see. So, he was bitter.

Then you can see how things relax between them, once Bella tells him she accepts him regardless. He kind of falls back into the sweet role. Much more protective and careful, but then again I dont' blame him for trying to keep his emotions on check...he could hurt Bella so easily now.

Right when you can see who good things are between them again...BAM, a vampire walks back into Bella's life...to take her away no less. Of course he is going to be frustrated, mad and even hurt this time. Bella left him...he was there with open arms and she walked away. Sad.

She basically walked all over his heart...and I am guessing some of his pride too.

Then...she finally comes back, and he believes that the reason she is not going up to his place to see him, to talk to him...is because the one thing he hates the most doesn't allow her to do so, Edward. Again...of course he is mad...but you could tell how things smoothed even if just for a second when Bella told him the reason she was not able to visit.

Poor poor Jacob, my heart goes out to him really. I don't think that he changed all the much, it just must be THAT much harder to keep it together now that he has all these new powers to think about. He just missed Bella...the opportunity to love Bella... *sigh*or at least that is what I think.

i live in the south where the term "honey" is common everyday thing... not exactly a term of endearment.... although in jacob's case, im sure it was. i think it's kind of funny that jacob would say honey... dont really know why it makes me laugh so much.

Perfectly written (:
Poor Jacob was basically torn apart.
His love for Bella, and the need to not hurt her, emotionally and physically.
And his duties to his tribe, and his brothers.

The poor kids only 16. He shouldn't have to go through all this.
I kind of just want to hug him and tell him it'll all be alright :(

I definitely agree.

I almost took it as hard as Bella did when Edawrd left (okay, maybe not THAT bad, but I had to put the book down and was rather angry for a solid hour before I could move on). But then Jacob showed up! Sweet, caring, insanely tall Jacob, who was capable of making Bella feel somewhat normal again. He paid attention to what was good and not good to do around her (the music, mentioning *his* name...) and took her to the emergency room when she got too reckless. Even after the werewolf transition, he tried to maintain his promise of not hurting her, coming into her room in the middle of the night (deja vu, anyone?).

I almost hate to admit it, but I was completely rooting for Jacob for awhile. All of those almost-moments...as much as I missed Edward and as panicked as I was for his life (well, I knew Stephenie wouldn't let him die, but still), I was hoping Jacob might get what he wanted and, frankly, deserved.

Of course, I should also admit that a good dramatic love-triangle is always nice for reading entertainment, he he.

Overall, I'm glad Edward's back, but I'm also VERY sorry for Jacob, and can't wait to see how this plays out. (Then again, Edward PROPOSED! Squee!!! ... *ahem* sorry about that...)

I am with you on this one...I didn't want to admit it to myself...but I fell in love with Jacob...I did. And I was rooting for him too at some points...I really did feel like a traitor, but I convinced myself it was Edward's fault for leaving!!

Of course I wanted Edward back...but Jacob was there...being Jacob, Bella's best friend...he understood her, cared for her...loved her. He deserved something back...

*sigh* I just feel he has gone through a lot in such a short period of time...I understand where all those tantrums come from is all.

As I've said, I like Jacob as a friend for Bella, but calling her "honey" was just taking it a bit too far if you ask me. Everytime he did that, I wanted to shout at him, "Hey! watch it!"
