SM - Bella and Edward's middle names

Post by alida »

Well, this is sort of strange, following Romeo and Juliet; but I was watching West Side story today (for those unfamiliar, the modern musical version of Shakespeare's play). But they're named Anthon *Tony for short* and Maria. Edward's middle name is Anthony, and Bella's is Marie. Maybe I'm being over speculative, but they didn't pop up until this book.

That was a song in west side story.
And Bella said Jake was like her brother!

"So what you're saying is, I'm your brand of heroin?" I teased, trying to lighten the mood.
He smiled swiftly, seeming to appreciate my effort. "Yes, you are exactly my brand of heroine."

i never noticed that! That is something I certainly will ask Stephenie because it seems TOO good to be a coinsidence.

Now I've got West Side Story lines going through my head.

"I saw you and the world went away."

"One of your own kind - stick to your own kind."

"I have a love and it's all that I have. Right or wrong, what else can I do?"

"I love him. I'm his. And everything he is, I am. too."

"There's a palce for us. Somewhere a place for us."

*imagines Bella singing I Feel Pretty...*

NEW! TWILIGHT/NEW MOON, THE MUSICAL!

(We'll have Rosalie sing that one though.)

Oh my gosh, you're right! I hope it's not an indicator of things to come, because if this turns out to be a tragedy...

If the series turns into a tragedy I'm going to cry. Or die. I'll just die.
