I also agree that her fondness for Jacob will lead her to give him a happy ending, I think her fondess is part of what got her to make Bella admit she has more than brotherly feelings towards him.

I have complete faith that stephenies love for Jacob will win out and he'll get his happy ending that he deserves so much

Jake. Ah, there's so much to say about him. I absolutely love him to pieces. But I'll stay on topic.

Stephenie will give Jake a happy ending because of her fondness of him. She pretty much told us that. I bet it was hard for her to write about Jake's heartbreak. And she knows so much more than us; she knows every aspect on Jake's feelings, and I'm sure after all that, he's going to get a good ending. I still believe strongly that the only way that can happen is if he imprints. I have mixed feelings on that.

But anyway. Jake has had a huge effect on me too. He caused me to look at things from different perspectives, and I began to see other ways that things could be done instead of just Edward and Bella and Edward and Bella need to belong together. I mean, of course they do, but his presence just caused me to question things with a "What if it happened this way...?"

Edward has effected me a lot too but him and Jake are just so different. The reason why I love Jake so much is that he's just a normal, hilarious, teenage guy. Plus he's hot. He's also a good friend to Bella, and he really fought for his love in Eclipse. I respect that.

I just wish the best for Jake. :)

I keep having this recurring nightmare in which Jacob shows up at the wedding and, in a fit of indesicion, Bella leaves Edward at the alter for Jacob. I literally woke up in a cold sweat. I'm not going to pretend for a second that I'm a Jacob lover (I read Eclipse before I read New Moon, so I think my perspective of Jacob is a little skewed because of that) but I could still see it happening. I sense it, I fear it...but it's not my book, so it's not my place to decide. I would probably have a happiness-induced aneurysm is Bella and Edward ended up together - but if SM wants Bella and Jacob to get together, that's OK by me too.

But come on...it's EDWARD CULLEN!!! Jacob Black might be an amazing guy by human standards...but he can't hold a candle next to Edward <3333 :P

I really don't think that loving a character necessarily means that an author will write a happy ending for them....not that I think Jacob's story will end badly. However, love for a character does not necessarily have to influence the direction the story goes.
Just as an example, in the final Harry Potter book, a number of beloved characters lose their lives. Their stories end with death...but does that mean that JKR didn't love them. I don't think it does.
If I am not mistaken, the story has been moving in a certain specified direction since SM signed her book deal to write the sequels...I don't think any overwhelming love for Jacob is going to make her deviate from that plot outline.

Do you think it will affect the direction of Breaking Dawn?

[of course I really have no idea whether it will happen or not] But unfortantly I think he'll be in BD more than he should because she likes him. Is there really any point for a maybe POV of him when he is no longer apart of Bella's life cause she choose Edward?

Yesh you make a good point, i hope thats the case for Jacob... because to be completely honest if Bella ends up with Edward id cry for a long time... but who knows what could happen. *shrugs* :?

Yea, I definately think Stephenie's emotions for Jacob will affect the direction of Breaking Dawn. However, Im not sure how that will lead. I definately want him to find another love besides Bella, or at least SOMEONE. I just cant see her keeping him heartbroken while/if Edward and Bella stay together. I also cant see her splitting up Edward and Bella simply to make Jake happy. Jake needs someone new!

*sigh* Im not sure if that makes any sense...I think I'll just be happy with whoever she picks, as long as the other gets a somewhat happy ending.
Oh, lord, what can I say? I've been sad since you went away.

At the signing I went to Stephenie said that she likes Jake the best because well Edward is taken! Having that point of view it makes it clear to me (not that I ever had a single doubt) that Jake will not be breaking up B/E during Breaking Dawn. He may cause some more mischief, but B/E is inevitable now, just as in my opinion it was from that first meeting in Twilight.

At the same time i was really intrigued by this new interview revealing B/E were engaged at the end of Twilight's first draft. Stephenie posted on the lexicon that she hasn't changed her story at the pressure of editors and readers but if they were engaged at the end of Twilight, what the heck happened in NM and EC? And how could the new plot have happened without her fondness for Jake.

i agree that stephenie's supreme love for jacob will prevent him from having some tragic ending like dying or something horrible like that. jacob is just too good a character to go to waste like that. he should be happy.

on that note, i don't believe that jacob's only way to be "happy" is to imprint and find a girl. that's too predictable. i would hope there's only falling action in the department of his feelings for bella and their relationship finally refines into the friendship they used to have. jacob simply resolving his feelings for bella is happy enough for me.

i doubt that stephenie's large love for jacob would cause her to try and wedge him in between edward and bella now...i mean, we already went through all that drama in eclipse and this is the final novel that will wrap things up...bella choosing jacob just doesn't seem very plausible anymore now that we've gotten this far and she's went through so much to choose edward.

Well ouisa, we must remember that when the first draft of Twilight was finished, it was a single novel, not the first of a series. SM didn't originally write it to be the beginning of a longer story....

I agree with ethereal_eternity. Stephenie's love for Jacob is not going to cause her to try and "wedge him in between Edward and Bella" at this point. That ship sailed....in my opinion, long ago.
