Bella's Lullaby

Post by Cocoa »

Appearently the original Bella's Lullaby Thread had been eaten by the dark forces of Cyberspace.

Discuss what you think Bella's lullaby sounds like here...post links to songs and discuss.

I don't know what it sounds like. I think it sounds very dramatic, and almost sad though. I think that Edward was sad that he couldn't be better for Bella when he wrote it. But I think it's hauntingly beautiful. I love that he sings to her.

i am anxious for the movie for precisely this reason (okay and many others..).
in my head i can hear parts of it.. i'm one of these random people that break out hummign tunes that develope from nowhere. anyway, it's always soft, and sad.. and always on high notes. envision: faerie bells and whispers.
and very slow also... im yet to find something like it in music though.. of course a pre-requisite is it has to be from a piano, and very elaborate i'm thinking.. as when Edward plays it his hands move very fast and very superiorly right?

update: hauntingly beautiful is so magical. i love that expression for the lullaby! nice phrase StupidxLamb. and we both wrote sad.. seems to be the vibe maybe.

I re-posted the topic and got to thinking about Edward's mad skills. So I thought, only a 4 hand piece would dimonstrate his abilities propery. So I went hunting. Thus far I have found only the one. But its pretty.

Cocoa, i love that!.. it's almost how i can hear it.. i like the umm i don't know how to say it, together bits.. where it goes kind of faster over each other. does that make sense?
my only 'no' about that peice was that when i hear the lullaby it sounds more musical, more (ha!) like a lullabye? get me?.. something soothing to sleep to-ish.

Pan's Labyrinth

Post by shammakins »

I absolutely love the "lullaby" that is hummed throughout the movie "Pan's Labyrinth." If you haven't seen it, definitely check it out. It's one that just sort of haunts you and follows you throughout the day. That's what I think of whenever Edward is humming to her or playing the piano.

The lullaby,

Post by Seeker »

does anybody remember the exact description (more or less) of what the lullaby sounded like in the book?

Lullaby

Post by Swan »

That is a beautiful piano song. It reminds me of George Winston's Thanksgiving, which seems sad to me. It's supposed to be happy I suppose but it makes me cry every time I hear it.

Stephenie has a lullaby song by Billy Joel on her playlist. Maybe that inspired her.

i love that song.. seriously, it's one of my favourites now. actually alot of the playlist songs are my favourites now, fancy that hehe. anyway.. Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel) by Billy Joel is good but it's a little bit basic for Edward's advanced musical piano skills i'd say.

Cocoa, I love that song, its one of my favourites on YouTube now :)

I just think that it would be slightly softer, that doesnt sound very... sleepy to me. Thats hardly the right word to describe the lullaby but still...

I searched "Bellas Lullaby" into youtube and this came up
