SM - Music?

Post by sealakewhirl »

Have you had a chance to listen to Stephenie Meyer's suggested music for listening to while reading twilight? Do you agree? What music goes through your mind when you read the novel?

The Twilight Soundtrack: (as copied from the stephenie meyer website)

1. "Why Does it Always Rain on Me?" ? Travis
2. "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" [video edit] ? My Chemical Romance
3. "Creep" [radio edit] ? Radiohead
4. "In My Place" ? Coldplay
5. "By Myself" ? Linkin Park
6. "Dreaming" ? OMD
7. "Please Forgive Me" ? David Gray
8. "Here With Me" ? Dido
9. "With You" [reanimation remix] ? Linkin Park
10. "Time is Running Out" ? Muse
11. "Dreams" ? The Cranberries
12. "Tremble for My Beloved" ? Collective Soul
13. "Lullaby (Goodnight, My Angel)" ? Billy Joel

yes. when i was reading it though i was listening to jack's mannequin and "wishes" by superchick, which for me fitted along the storyline as well. basically any soft rock or alternative rock music was going through my mind while reading the novel.

Yes, I've listened to 'Time Is Running Out' by Muse, the two Linkin Park songs and 'I'm Not Okay I Promise' by My Chemical Romance. I must admit though I really can't find the connection between 'I'm Not Okay I Promise' and Twilight...

I still think Weapon by Matthew Good Band fits perfectly. Maybe for the "what if's" that the book sets.

lol Alright I take back what I said it does relate to it just not in the way 'Time Is Running Out' does. Which is a great song by the way!

when i was reading i was thinking about the song by Mudvayne from the saw 2 soundtrack here is a little bit of it
What have I done?
Where have I come from?
When I burnt the backs with the sun through a glass did I seal the loss that's become me?

Feeling undone
What have I become?
When I turned my back on you I turned my back on myself and became this machine
doesn't it sound like edward and that is just the begining of song it sounds like when edward has hardly any control over his instincts and didn't stephenie meyer say he liked rockbands? well there you go * :P *

I've only listened to one or two of Stephenie Meyer's suggested playlist but the songs "Head Over Feet" and "Knees of My Bees" both by Alanis Morisette may explain Edward and Bella's relationship. The songs and lyrics are wonderful.
