Should Bella miss out on children to be a vampire?

General discussion about the Twilight Series Universe.

Should Bella have children before she becomes a vampire (assuming that she is going to become a vampire)?

Yes, definitely!
Erm, I'm not sure...
Um, no way!

Wow, I hadn't thought about this.
I think that Bella shouldn't have a child because of techical reasons a) Edward wouldn't be able to make her pregnant (that's obvious ._.) and she probably wouldn't want to have a baby with anyone else. b) If she would have a baby (with whom, I dunno) it would very weird raising it. The child would have to be changed into a vampire at some point (well, it wouldn't be must, but probably :p) and when would that be? And if the child would want to live a normal life, it could be quite problematic.

I'm babbling again and nobody can understand my point. : (

I don't know... is that a little too far fetched?

The child would be the same age forever
that would suck for the child, and I don't think they would do that
Yeah that's true. But if you think about it, if she really wanted one, she could do that. But I think that's really doubtful.

I've thought about this a lot. The decision to change now for me would be no but I'm 41 and have 3 kids BUT when I think about me at 17, I was a high school senior dating my sweetie that I did marry (8 ys later) I had no plans at all for kids. I was never maternal and it wasn't until I was 28 did I start considering children. But I was 30 before I had one. If that had been me at 18 changing into a vampire I really doubt I would ever regret not having kids. If your not wanting them at that point I don't think your mind will change. I was pretty dead set with the idea not to have kids and it took a lot of other factors along those years that changed my mind.

So, I guess my answer is no. No kids for Bella.

raising a child when you're immortal is way too complicated and dangerous.
shes' made it pretty clear that she wants to be with Edward forever (who can blame her?)
therefore the decision of having kids is practically made for her, she can't.

Yeah I just hope that she thinks about that in her final decision.

Hmmm, this is a toughie. In general, I would say that children are an important part of any life. However, we know that Bella simply wouldn't be happy without Edward. My personal opinion is that she should be happy with Edward, and I don't think she would miss the kids that she never had. However, to leave Edward, meet someone else, and have kids might make her happy with the kids, but she would always be missing Edward. So... be happy because you can't miss what you never had. Stick with Edward.

If it's her decision to miss out on whatever mortal moments she'll miss, it's her decision. Also, I work with kids. Although I LOVE kids, I don't want any myself. Maybe she doesn't really want kids. My husband and I don't want any.

Yeah I want kids when I get older. I'm only 19 but I know that one day I am going to want them. But there are some people that wouldn't want them. I personally love kids and everything about them.

I don't think that Bella should have kids if she's going to be a vampire. I mean, what would she do with them? It wouldn't be fair for her to go and let Jake get her pregnant just for the experience of having children, and them make Jake take care of them while she's off being a vampire. I think that if Bella really wanted to have children, then she'd have to give up being a vampire and being with Edward (because it would just be weird if she has kids with someone else but still stayed with Edward).

well, Bella's brain does work on the AM frequency. She always has kind of been a loner. I don't really see her as the kind dreaming of her only little bellas and Eddies.
