I was actually surprised when Angela or Mike didn't step up and try to help her through that. Looking at it from the outside she wouldn't how devastating it was to Bella but support from any of her friends would have been nice.

Personally I don't think Bella ever had any friends. She was talking to others only because she had and not because she wanted. Bella was spending most of her time thinking or talking to Cullens. They were everything to her. And to me it seemed like she looked down on her friends.

So basically if I was her friends I'd be deeply offended by her behavior. Maybe I'd try to comfort during first two-three weeks, but if I saw that she'd been ignoring me, I'd start ignoring her. I wouldn't speak to her anymore, not even when she recovered.

Hey, but this is coming from fairly vindictive and insensitive person.

I think her closer friends (Mike and Jessica) could have been a little more supportive. Angela was pretty good, and I am glad that Bella has Angela to talk and work things through with.

I agree that they probably recognized that she had been in love and now her true love was gone. That would send anyone into zombie mode! They should have tried a little harder to help her out and not given up like they did.

I feel really bad for this, but i'm pretty sure that if I had been one of Bella's friends, I think I would have shown her sympathy for a while, but after that I think I would have ignored her
I mean, her friends don't know how intense her and Edward's relationship is. They're just looking in from the outside. We are inside Bella's head. We know just how much she loves Edward. They don't.
I'm just trying to be realistic.

Well for one, no one knew how strong Edward and Bella's relationship truly was. I'm sure they all took it as a mere high school crush.

I didn't expect Jessica or Lauren to really step forward, but as far as Angela and Mike, Charlie did say that she never called her friends back, so that right there gives us a hint that they must have been trying to help her. But in the end, you can only do and try so much before the rest falls on the friend, and how much effort is put on their end to recover. I myself have been in similar situations with friends. It is hard to help them when they aren't making an attempt to help themselves.

Obviously, there wasn't any effort from Bella because she didn't want to let go and move on. Thank goodness for that though! I cannot imagine Edward having finally come back and Bella has moved on to another guy.

I'm terribly sorry, I'd love to say that I'd have been there for her always, but I wouldn't have. I'd have pitied her, for sure, but I'd have also been extremely annoyed.

I love the Twilight Saga, I love Edward, and everyone, but, only now, coming to think of it, I don't feel the same love for Bella. I like her because she made Edward's existence worthwhile, I like her because she completed the Cullen family, but, as a person, if she were real, I would not have been one of her close friends.

I am the type of person who tells people what I think. NO, I don't give my opinion when it's not wanted, but when someone needs a listening ear, they can find me. BUt if they expect me to listen to their problems and say nothing, and not tell them to get a freaking move on with their life because their boyfriend was not coming back, than they got another think coming.

I would have hated Edward on Bella's behalf. If she hadn't been so broken about it, I might have been happy for his return, and for Bella to have him again, but because of her state of mind, of being, I would have detested that vampire with all of my human guts.

I wouldn't, (obviously) have seen it as life or death, I'd have seen it as: Your boyfriend LEFT you, and left you in the woods to DIE, and you were CATATONIC for months, and looked like a zombie, and you decide to take him BACK? No. Way. YOu are SAD.

Yes, I'm one of those. And I would have considered her VERY pathetic, that she let a boy ruin her like that.

From a human POV, I'm sorry to say, but in this instance, Jessica wasn't very wrong. It was a natural response.

She seems like a boring person to me. I mean, I'm very outgoing and athletic so we are polar opposites! But I like her in the series as a fictional character, I just wouldn't like her as a friend.
