At this point, there is so much left to question, and also so much left that anything is possible.

I don't know exactly what to think until I read the book.

My prediction when I read the book is that the moment if she gets changed, I will go "AHHHHHHHH! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!"
and I will set my book down and cry.

Once the book is over, I will cry because this is the last book other than Midnight Sun that we will be speculating for a longggg time

^^I agree with you secsec1. A happy ending doesn't mean all is fine and dandy.
But reading the Epilogue in NM, Bella quotes from Romeo and Juliet, "They fight. Paris falls." Jake is Paris, Edward is Romeo, so could this be foreshadowing? I've thought about it, but Edward wouldn't pick a fight with Jacob unless Jake was doing something to his family. And even though I personally don't care for Jacob, I admit he wouldn't hurt Bella, even through harming a Cullen. Bella could just be overracting (again) as she quotes that. But we never know what spin will be thrown at us!

You're right. What I meant was, I can't think of an ending that I like. At all. Everything that I come up with is tragic. The worst, in my opinion, would be Bella getting changed into a vampire, but I think I'm pretty much alone in feeling that way... I want Bella to chose mortality, but the only way I can see that happeing is if Edward dies, which is also horribly tragic. You see my pickle?? :?

I'm thinking that Leah is feeling very protective of Jacob because she understands what he's going through, and that's going to create tension between her and Bella.
I don't think that Leah's very understanding of Jacob. I mean, if she was, she'd let him be on his own, because she knows what he's thinking, right? Like in the epilogue of Eclipse, Jake hates her. But maybe- HAH!!!!!!! You know she said, "You have no isdea how hard this is for me" I think it's more than gender confusion. Maybe it's because Leah wants him to move on to her instead of feeling horrible over Bella. And she runs away because Jake makes it clear that he doesn't like her. I don't think she runs away just because of the jibe about sam.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I'm very worried that Bella won't become a vampire. We all know a few a Bella's dreams have come true or have been foreshadowing to other events. So, the dream she has at the very beginning of New Moon where she thinks she's seeing her grandmother, but its actually her as an old lady, it makes me very nervous.

I really want Bella to become a vampire, so she can be with Edward forever. I don't think she can be truly happy any other way. She may love Jake, be able to have a family with him, see her parents sometimes, and basically have a human life. But she won't be truly happy. If she stayed human and Edward was with her until she died, then he would kill himself too (provoke the Volturi).

I just really hope that dream was just about Bella worried because it was her birthday and she was getting older.

I'm not worried that she wont become a vampire, I'm worried that she will. I'm really really hoping she doesn't get changed. I don't think it's what she truly wants. She's obsessed with the idea of being with Edward forever, and she seems to be equating 'forever' with immortality which makes her think she wants to become a vampire, despite her obvious fear of it and disgust with killing people/thirsting for human blood. I think it would be very sad if she was changed and her and Edward lived out their long, meaningless vampire live together. Bella needs a healthy dose of reality. No one should want to choose eternal youth and beauty over family, friends, life, sanity, humanity and all the millions of tiny things that come along with it. What kind of a moral would that be? What kind of a love story?

I for one think she can be happy either without Edward (if she gave it a real try- like an addict giving up their drug) or without taking the drastic step to become a vampire. Everything that makes Bella Bella would be gone. She would be a shell of her former self. Would she even love Edward anymore? Would he lover her? Who knows....

I really do think she can be truly happy without making that irrevocable sacrifice. I can't see it any other way.

And Edward needs to get over this killing-himself-if-Bella-dies thing. It is not attractive, or healthy, or beneficial to any aspect of either character. It's very very not ok, and one of the main reasons that at times, I don't like Edward much.

This is a fun topic. I've been wondering what other people are speculating about Breaking Dawn. I think there will be a showdown of some sort with th Volturi. I don't think they're just going to disappear.

I've been worried about that too. I hope that she does end it with Bella changing. I think it's either, Bella becomes a vampire or Bella gets killed by the Volturi though. I don't know what could be done about that, but with the Volturi as a factor it definately seems to be the way things are heading. I definately want her to be with Edward forever. It's their love story I want to see them finish it.

I think it's going to end somehow with Bella dying because of Edward or Jake... because of the preface... you know, 'If someone you loved was killing you"

You aren't alone. side steps thrown tomatoes I think reading fanfiction has opened my eyes to Bella vampire more than anything. I don't see how her being a blood thirsty vampire is a happy ending? I've gone over this time and time again and I, like you, have a hard time grasping how her becoming a vampire is the best thing for her. If she's grown up at all, if she's learned from any of her experiences, she should know that nothing is certain. Even living as an immortal doesn't fully protect her against herself and others around her. It just gives her Edward for eternity. BUT that's eternity on Earth. I don't understand why she can't have him when she dies if she believes there is an after life? She believes this because she tries to convince him of it. Who cares about her growing old? It's hard to put a grasp on the fact that she doesn't care much about make-up and making herself pretty but yet she cares what others would say of her as an old woman with Edward still looking young.

I don't even know what I'm trying to say other than I go both ways. IF she could become some kind of vampire that won't want to off every human being within a 30 mile radius, I could be happy with that. If she's just a normal vampire, that ending is pretty sad if you ask me. Who would inflict something like that on themselves on purpose?
