I don't know about you guys, but i have a SERIOUS gut feeling that the dream Bella had involving Rosalie & Billy Black in eclipse is going to be apart of the plot...not only that, but Bella does compare Rosalie to the vampire from the wolf stories told in eclipse. I don't think SM would just randomly throw that out there & go to such lengths to have Bella think of Rosalie looking like the first female vampire that the wolves encountered...not only that but we find Bella's dreams have once before predicted something for the future; a foreshadowing if you will. For example, in Twilight Bella's first dream of Edward? Bella had the dream & in it she turned away from Jacob & turned back finding him to be replaced by a dog (giving hint to his future becoming a wolf)

Anyone else agree here???

I agree and disagree. First, I think she related to Rosalie with the vampire because she had long flowing blonde hair, like Rosalie...
Now, another thing is... Bella had a dream after Rosalie told her the story of her changing, and it was Bella crawling on the street dying, with Rosalie (as the angel) flying above her with envious eyes... so I dunno what that would represent, then.

I'm rereading Eclipse now, so i dont remember all of Bella's dreams in it, so i can't comment directly on them, but I think Bella's dreams in general will play a roll. Its kind of how she deals with things and they seem to be tied to her very high perseption of the world around her. I think that Bella's dreams and high perseption will play a roll in BD, kind of leaning towards that being Bella's gift but that's for another thread. But like was said, things are put into books for a reason, and i dont think SM would spend so much time on Bella's dreams if they werent important in some larger context. Even Edward wishes he could dream.

Side note, i wonder how Bella's sleep talking will impact BD. once she's turned, she wont do that any more and Edward will really have no clue what she's thinking.

For the record, he's the exact quote from EC.

When I did sleep, I had a nightmare. I was crawling across the dark, cold stones of an unfamiliar street, under lightly falling snow, leaving a trail of blood smeared behind me. A shadowy angel in a long white dress watched my progress with resentful eyes.

~EC, Ch. 7 - Unhappy Ending

It doesn't actually say it's Rosalie there, but because the dream happened just after Rosalie got done telling Bella her story and the dream reflects/emulates Rosalie's change (Rosalie had been assaulted and left to die on the street when Carlisle found her), everyone assumes it's Rosalie as the "shadowy angel" in that dream. Rosalie also has never really liked Bella (although I think their relationship has been improving gradually since TWI), "resentful" still would probably be an apt word to describe Rose's feelings.

I'd actually been wondering if that dream might be more foreshadowing of what Bella's vampire gift might be. I tend to lean to Bella's gift possibly having something to do with her intuition about people, having a deeper understanding of them that she's not consciously aware of but comes out in her subconscious. Like others, I think that dream was all about Rosalie, based on Bella just hearing her story. Even though Bella sees herself as the one bloody and crawling on the street, she was actually picturing what Rosalie must have went (or did go) through after her assault and her mind putting herself in human Rose's place. The "shadowy angel" was also Rosalie, but Vampire Rosalie, looking at the representation of her dying human self (as Bella), with "resentful" eyes, just as she sees Bella now in what she's willing to give up. Rosalie possibly believes Bella will be just like her, coming to resent her loss of humanity and could be why Bella had that dream. Bella saw Rosalie's perception of her on an inherent level, but her conscious mind couldn't fully grasp it.

I've been re reading and I notice that all over the place, Edward comments on how 'perceptive' she is and he comments on her 'intuition'.

Lots of people in this thread seem so certain that Bella will be turned into a Vampire in BD that they don't even question whether or not it will happen, but skip ahead to predicting what will happen after it "undoubtedly" does. Am I the only one who doesn't want her to be turned? Granted, I used to want her to be changed, but after reading New Moon and Eclipse I get the sense that the sacrifice of willingly making the change is too much. I know most people think she made her final decision in Eclipse, and I used to think that too... but upon second (and third) readings, I get the sense that she's not really as sure as she pretends to be... As much as I adore Edward, I personally think it would be a really sad ending; losing her life, her future, her humanity... I'm torn! :?

As for for-shadowing- what about the vision Bella has of her future when she realizes she loves Jacob near the end of Eclipse? She pretty much saw her whole future life flash before her eyes (has that every happened to her with Edward??), and she later admitted that she really does want that life, but she's determined to be with Edward despite it all. Ultimately, she did chose to be with Edward over Jacob so the only way I can see that vision being played out is if Edward dies- which I definitely DON'T want to happen.

I can't figure out a happy ending! :(

wow, that's an excellent point of view i must say- it definately makes alot of sense. Maybe Bella's perception will be of use in the development of her gift?

I kind of see that part as her saying good bye to that future, kind of like seeing your life pass before your eyes before you die (and she saw edward when was was about to die in NM). And once you cry it out like she did, she really put that behind her i think. I've had to do that before in my own life and once youre done crying, you're done with what you're crying over.

As for a happy ending, i think happy ending is relative. its not going to be a fairy tale...its not and then they lived happily ever after. I htink happy ending will be that Bella gets a chance to live her life, whatever life she chooses, and is happy in the adventure that she's chosen.
