Ok. Maybe this has been posted in the Breaking Dawn cover thread or earlier here...but if I don't post it now instead of looking for it I will get distracted and forget it forever.

It may start out off topic...but stay with me! Lets take a look at the cover. Now, assuming that the pawn is moving across the board to the right (the queen is on the same side of the board that she started out on...the bottom right side.) It has no where to go but to step right in the queen's line of fire and die! That is why I think that it's about sacrificing true love. Or, more eloquently, sacrificing one's self for true love and the inevitability of the situation. I have a few scenarios where this might be applicable.

we only have one week left ot post stuff, so i say, post where you can. and we have been discussing so issues related to the cover and how is bringsin themes.

i've always thought of Sacrifice as the umbrella theme, because everything else can be covered by it.
and bella become a vampire is a form of self-sacrifice

Breaking dawn=Beginning your life after choosing love.
as far as i was concerned at the end of eclipse, bella had chosen her way, and all thats left is beginning that new life

I agree. ijust think that as far as the finding, losing, choosing, goes. then next is beginning
to me, beginning would be the hardest, it carries a lot of doubts

i like the batman quote
night is darkest just before the dawn
makes me wonder if bellas darkest time has already passed. or if its just about to begin!

New Moon was supposed to be the darkest, but now it sounds like BD is very dark too, but in a different way

BD seems so dark to me because there are just so many loose ends to tie up
