Do you think that one of The Denalis would change Bella?
If she would find 'em though?

Mod Edit: Discuss the Denali Coven, Past, Present and future

Hmmm. We know very little about the Denali clan, only that they're pretty much the oldest vampires we've met so far (each over a thousand years) and the sisters ain't the most chaste chicks in the world. Considering they also like human men, they could possibly relate to Bella wanting to be with Edward, but also could be the types who want the Cullen guys to themselves  . IMO, we don't know enough about them to make good theories.

I'm not so sure about that. Carlisle met a group in Italy that Edward says has been there for several millennia. See p. 340 for more. I'll have to update the lexicon with the three names he gives and ask Stephenie if they are the oldest. These are the same vampires in the pictures on Carlisle's walls; Aro, Marcus, and Caius. I've negledted then as they are so briefly mentioned. But I have negeledted several other charaters too, like Billy Black. Duh, he should be on there! Anyway, my point is that I don't think the Denali coven is the oldest. I will ask Stephenie if she can tell us about them more or if that is a spoiler.

Ah yes. (Boinks self on head.) I didn't think of including them because I forgot they actually had names! (When it comes to actually "knowing" characters, I usually draw the line by whether they've been named or not.)

Anyway, my point was that the Denali clan members are signifigantly older then the vampires we know well. Having been created at about 1005 (except for Eleazer and Carmen), we don't know whether their ages will give them different attributes or developments from the younger vampires. For example, in Carlisle's 400 or so years he has made himself immune to human blood. So, who knows what millenium-aged vampires have done?

I think that Edward will be the one to change Edward in the end, but I think that the Denali's and the other 6 vampires, can't think of their names right now, will play roles in the later books.

Someone mentioned above that those Denali girls are the kind that would want the Cullen men to themselves, do you think they might try to make a move of one of them in the next book? Hmm...I doubt it, but just something to ponder.

I thought I read on the profiles of this site that some of them were boys and were with some of the girls in the clan.

It's just Carmen and Eleazer that are together. Kate, Tanya, and Irina are apparently single and the originators of the succubus (female demons who would have sexual relations with human males) myths.

I know this going to sound very, very contradictiory. But....

It's funny that you mention the possibility of one of them changing Bella, because my first thought after reading the book was, "Why doesn't she follow Laurent to Denali and ask him to do it?" XD

Still, I highly doubt that Bella would even get that far without Edward or Alice figuring out where she's going and stopping her. Unless, of course, they go on another hunting trip together and Bella leaves then and Alice doesn't realize it in time... But even that's unlikely, because, well, Alice and Edward can drive a whole lot faster than Bella can.

Even if Bella did "escape" them, I doubt the Denali vampires would just up and say, "Okay, you want to be a vampire? Fine. *bites*" For one thing, it's a really serious matter, and not something you can take back, so I don't think a vampire would turn a stranger, even if Bella did tell them about Edward.

Besides, I don't think Bella would do it, because Edward would be extremely angry. I don't doubt that he'd still love her, but he'd be very angry.

And I don't think Bella, or the Denali coven for that matter, would want to see angry Edward.

Also, I don't think Bella would search out and trust any ol' vampire (even a vegetarian one) she barely knows to turn her. Just because someone is a vampire doesn't mean they have the self control (only a few apparently do, and they usually had deep bonds with the people they were changing).

Although I think a vampire (like Victoria) might try to change Bella for revenge purposes, Bella isn't so blinded by her desires to have anybody do the job. At least I hope so...
