Wow, that's a possibility. I never thought about that. But it couldn't have been one of the current vamps... because they're all alive. But the whole changing-their-ways thing could be.

I don't know that they have been alive that long. If it was Tanya, It could have been one of the reasons why they became vegetarian, but I always thought that since Carlisle was the first vegetarian, they decided to stop killing humans after they met him.

No, Carlisle found them, actually. And the succubi are a thousand years old, but are not shriveled like Aro, Marcus, and Caius- those three are like that because of their dust, gathering on them throughout the centuries and because of their level of activity.
Sorry, off topic. But I'm pretty sure that the Denali were veggie before Carlisle, because they are all a thousand years old, and Carlisle only met up with them in what? The last twenty? I find it hard to believe that they've been veggie for twenty years in their millenia. Also, Edward said they 'found' the Denali, not that they 'converted' or whatever'd the Denali, in Twilight. So that's my really long answer.

You know though, after what we were talking about on the last page (maybe it was this one, NETSPEAK IS SO UNATTRACTIVE PLEASE FIX ME!) we thought that they lived in the forest, away from humans. It would make sense that they would have to if they had "converted" recently.

Did the Cullens know the Denali's before the first time they came to Forks?

I don't think so. If I'm not wrong, they met the Denali's after being the first time in Forks and then, they went to the north, to Alaska. Another possibility is that they met them after incorporating Alice and Jasper.

All it said in Eclipse is that the creatures came from the north, and that when the sons of Taka Aki went after them it lead them " far to the north". Also, the female vampire that came to the wolves was a blonde. Tanya is a blonde. Maybe the fight with the wovles and the resulting death of the two vamps lead the other members of the Denali coven to see what they had done, and change their ways.

Thoughts anyone? Maybe my imagination is just in over drive.
That makes sense...Really!

Thanks for not thinking I am crazy. But the whole " who were the vamps that attacked the quiluetes" is killing me.

I think it makes total sense that a member of the Denali clan, was the vampire that attacked the Quiluetes. It fits in with the legend, and fits into a theory I have.

I'm really interested to see what role the Denali clan plays in 'Breaking Dawn'. I seriously think that the Denali clan will team up with the Volturri againt the Cullens, but maybe I'm just way off the direction the story is going.

I don't know...it made sense in my head...I'll shut up now

I don't think the Denali clan will fight against the Cullens. I think that deep down they are still friends. I do not think that would fight with the Cullens though, unless it was on their turf and they were in danger. No one wants to go against the Volturi. So they would avoid that fight if at any way possible. I don't think Tanya's clan wants to see the Cullens destroyed though either, because 1. they are friends, and 2. they are the only other known coven to have similar feeding habits.

I do not think there is anyway they can be left out of Breaking Dawn. They have been metioned in every book and there has to be some kind of conflict in the next one. Granted we all want the happy ending, but to have 400-500 pages of only happy ending would not satisfy most of us.

one more thought.

I REALLY think some former member of the Denali attacked the Quiletutes but know I am having second thoughts. Why would they not want revenge on the wovles earlier. They must not have cared for the earlier pair much, or they were too scared to go against the wolves..

But on the other hand, how did they know that the wolves were the ones to kill Laurant? Most other vamps seem surprised when they come across them. Victoria did not know about the wolves until later. Did she find the wolves, then run back to Denali to tell of Laurant? And if so, why were the Denali not mad at Victoria for sending Laurant in the first place.

Sorry I am all over the map here. but this is a mystery that I really want cleared up.
