Thats not what my store manager said. He said they had a list of like 10 different themes & they chose one.

But cool.

I worked every single Harry Potter Midnight Release, including the chaos and pain (and FUN) that was #7, and believe me, it IS like herding cats!

Hmm.... I'm assuming "they" is that store's managers? (I'm a manager at my store, and I don't recall seeing a list from corporate...)

For us, we'd decided before the company had even decided about the midnight releases. Months ago. But they definitely are not making us do the prom. If we'd wanted to do a wedding or engagement theme, we could have. It's completely up to each store individually.

Call your local store and find out what they're doing! The more interest that is shown, the more likely they are to go all out!

I know it'll be packet in some places (probley not were I live cause its not that crowded of an area, but whoknows). I just thought it was funny cause I thought people usually would say "hearding cows" but never heard "hearding cats" lol. Is it cause they are whinney? lol.

prom dress

Post by twilightroxmuhsox »

Is anyone going to wear a prom dress???

Somewhere on B&N they said they wanted people to dress up in prom dresses hence the theme. But I think that would be uncomfortable and what-not , wouldn't it?
"Before you, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars-points of light and reason...And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black. Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn't see the stars anymore. And there was no more reason for anything."

Yup some people are wearing nice dresses, some are dressing up as characters, and some are wearing t-shirts. Just go with whatever you want to do. :)

You are right. I'm the manager in charge of my store's event, and there wasn't a list from corporate. In fact, we had already chosen a Masquerade theme, and then we saw the online advertisement on bn.com and got worried they would make all stores do the prom thing. Thank goodness they let us have the ultimate say. :D

The manager I just talked to said that they were given a list of themes (suggestions I figure) that they could use as party themes. They thought prom was too boring & that engagement party might be fun, so they tried that
