Does anyone know about any release parties in the Houston area? If not, I was thinking about trying to get a Barnes and Noble to start one.

I can try and talk to my boss, but would you be willing to come out to Katy and have a party in a small new/used bookstore?

IF and only if there is interest in this idea I could try and set up a party/ 'prom' with my bosses permission. I work at The Bookworm Shop in Katy, TX. I am a manager at the Barnes & Noble at Town & Country. We are planning a Stephenie Meyer Ball and book release party. It will be on August 1st from 9pm-midnight. We are encouraging people to call the store to reserve copies as the response from the area teens has been amazing. The store phone is (713)465-5616. We will have events, an art gallery-bring your Meyer inspired artwork and trivia. We are on the lookout for a goth flavored band to play. I am still planning what specific events we will have. My event last year at the Champions location was the second largest in the region, second only to Utah. We had 500 folks in promwear. I hope to top that number this year. Bring your vamp wear, werewolf suits and join us for a festive night celebrating our most favorite author!

Hi. So glad you responded. We are all really excited about the party too. Call the store if you can to reserve a copy. Our reservation list has skyrocketed over the last week or so. I want to make sure you get a copy. (713)465-5616.

If you have friends that will come to the party, tell them about the reservations too. I know it is going to be a really great night. As I was telling a customer today who reserved her copy, we'll be playing games and stuff til 12:01 then it's run to the registers to get our copies so we can go hide in the corner and read. Can't wait to find out what happens with Jacob and if Bella turns.

So have any of y'all heard anything from Deerbrook Mall? It would be closer for me. Or the Woodlands Mall, maybe? Where exactly is Town & Country? And how are we supposed to dress?
