Starting a Twlight/New Moon LOCAL club?

Post by Lilly »

I wanted to ask about this for a long time. I wanted to make a club for Twilight and New Moon (and the rest of Stephenie Meyers books of course). It would be locally based.

But i need help. I need to know how to REALLY get this club started? I already have people interested, but i'm not really sure how to get it advertised, or sponsered.
Any tips?

This club would be in Arizona.

I really hope this is the right place for this. I was torn between here and "Flight to Phoenix". I appologize if this has to be moved.

Dude, that would be pretty sweet.
Being in AZ, naturally, Stephenie could come!
Are you in Phoenix?
As for advertising, you could start by advertising on the lexicon and by making flyers to post at local libraries. A library would also be a good place to sponsor it at, so you might want to talk to your librarians.
You might also want to think about a website, even if it's just a freewebs at first.
And tell me more info! I'm way interested, living in Phoenix. I also have friends who would be interested.

I'm nowhere near AZ, nor do I have a local Twilight fanclub, but there are several things my friends and I do here that might be good for a fanclub ^^

I was the first of my friends to read Twilight, and then after convincing everyone to read it, we naturally wanted to talk about it. I've had one or two parties where I just invite everyone who I know likes Twilight (I always wanted them to be more personal, so only friends of mine. You could get permission to put up posters and see if you could host it at a local library if you wanted, I'm sure).

Once there, we just did silly Twilight related things. A few of us had devoured Stephenie's website as well as the lexicon, so when questions came up we were able to answer them for the most part. Every time we get together we can have a 45-90 conversation about random details easily ^^

Another fun thing is I randomly started reading aloud from the book, and a few girls started acting out the book as I was reading while another girl filmed. We've had discussions as to who should play who if there's a movie, songs that represent characters, upcoming books, and a ton of other things. Basically, you just need to get some people together (I'm sure any group of Twilight fans will grow ^^) and talk. If you run out of things to say you could always form a list of questions about each chapter like the lexicon does and use that as a guide.

Thanks for the ideas!

Actually, i'm not in Pheonix. Its about 2 hours south. But meetings wouldnt be like every week, so maybe you could drive down? Once i've got everything setteled there will be tons more information.

My friend's are helping organize it. So far we have some sheets and stuff typed out, and in about 2 weeks when we are done we are going to be contacting the Library.

I love the Idea of reading it outloud and even coming up with questions for each chapter.

Aww... 2 hours is kind of REALLY far, especially with my busy schedule. Maybe once I start driving... I could drive down every once in a while. But it's just too far... Are you like, at the border?

Sounds majorly cool. Too bad I don't live in Phoenix. *grrr* I did, up until I was four, then my mom's stupid business had to transfer. I'd give anything to go back to Phoenix, I miss it even if I can't remember details about the first four years of my life. >< Anyways, someone mentioned a website on here and if you decide to make one I could help you out...even if I don't live in Phoenix. T_T

Tucson. its a little shorter than 2 hours, anyway.

Perhaps the club could come to pheonix sometimes?

Maybe we should pass this idea around the lex so even more people could try to start a TwiMoon club, then we could convert even more people and Stephenie Meyer could rule the world!!!

About a good 25% of the population at my school had read TwiMoon so i think that said group could be started!

Keep me posted!
