Borders at 34th street (Penn Plaza/Madison Square Garden)
Totally in an awesome spot for anyone taking the train back to Long Island or New Jersey is absolutely doing a midnight release.

Columbus Circle (59th and 8th) totally doing a midnight release.
I'm leaning towards this is the location I'm going to be at.

Both sites are equidistant from the Nokia and their parties start at 10:00 which sounds like decent timing to me.

That Virgin Store also sounds like a great option if you are just looking for a book with no party. Definitely someone talk to the manager though to make sure that there are enough books. 100 fans showing up and 5 books to be had would be so not pretty!
I may be doing the Borders cause I am coming from Long Island.

Hello

I was wondering if all you twilight fans could help me out with a question I have. My question has two parts so I hope you all bear with me.

My friend and I are going to see Stephenie in NY and as we go through the autograph line we wanted to give her a gift. However, I have been to two of her signings previously and I have never seen anyone do this. Do you guys know if it allowed? Has anyone out there in the Lexicon given her a gift before? If so, did you see what they did with it?

The second part of my question I think is the most important. My friend and I wanted to buy her some chocolates that have been imported from a town close to Voterra, Italy. However, we have no idea if she is allergic to chocolate or nuts. We tried to find out online but we didn't have much luck. Also, another one of my friends thinks that Mormons cannot eat chocolate (something to do with the caffeine in it). But I know nothing of the Mormon faith so I would not know if this is true. So basically, I guess I am asking if anyone knows if Stephenie Meyer eats chocolate. Any info you all have would be great. I really would like to get her a little gift (lets be real guys- she deserves it), but I want it to be a gift she would enjoy not throw away cause she cannot have it. If she cannot have chocolate do you guys have any other cool ideas?

Thanks again everyone :D

Unfortunately I can't give you a solid yay or nay on either front, however, I'm sure Stephenie would appreciate any and all gifts from fans and, if she didn't eat chocolate herself, I'm sure she could find someone else who would :)

she does accept gifts. my friend gave her a cd at the signing we went to.

as for the chocolate, if you do a search, it seems that it's more of a personal decision. although it would probably be a good idea to give something that is not edible. she might have to throw it away because she doesn't know you... safety concerns and all that. (just my opinion though)

I can guarantee that Stephenie does eat chocolate. As far as the gift thing, I do know fans have given her things, just remember that she's usually traveling from place to place on a tight schedule and living out of a suitcase so she can't carry big things. Also keep in mind airline safety rules regarding anything you might give her. (In other words I'd stay away from liquids in case she wasn't checking a bag.)

Hi! I am going to the book tour in LA, but no one seems to be checking that thread.

I am wondering about how long the concert and line for signing will last. It would be great if someone could let me know. I know the concert starts at 8 in LA, and I have to drive 5 hours afterwards...I am just trying to plan my time :P

Thanks alot for the help so far everyone. It is good to know that she eats chocolate (I must admit I am a chocolate lover myself). However, Pel, do you know if she eats nuts. I am really worried about the nut allergies out there. The chocolate we want to buy her has nuts in it. And i know what everyone will say. "Just buy chocolate with out nuts", but we want to buy her this chocolate for a reason (there is a story behind the origin of the chocolate). As for the idea of not giving her food because she doesn't know who made it, I understand that concern which is why I plan to leave the chocolates in the original pakage, unopened.

Thanks again every one
:P

I was thinking of buying her some asian candy and attaching it with a poem of mine which reflects the story of Twilight. I don't know for sure though since I feel weird giving a gift to an author because she already gave me the gift of wonderful books!! Oh man, a little under a month till the signing!!

So I am a little confused. Over here on the lexicon everyone keeps saying that the Nokia theater has said that Stephenie's event is standing room only. However, over on the twilightmom's webpage they say that they have conformation from Elizabeth (Stephenie's publicist) that the Nokia theater will have seats set up for first come first serve. I was wondering if anyone knew which one was true? Has anyone received a clear answer on when we are allowed to start forming lines? I would like a seat towards the front and am willing to get there early. Finally, I was wondering how they were going to handle questions. When I saw Stephenie in Portland people came around and passed out cards for us to write our questions on (they did this around 5pm since doors opened at 6). They then collected the cards and Stephenie went through them and chose the questions she wanted to answer. Is that how it is going to work in NY too?
