1. In what ways does Bella identify with the third wife?
Bella's basically just desperate to do something - she's tired of being left on the sidelines all the time and putting her family and friends in constant danger. Basically, she just sees the connection right away between her and the third wife. The one who is deeply in love with the person she feels she keeps putting in peril, and she snatched the victory for once and saved the people she loved. I don't blame Bella for actually thinking that way, or at least seeing the connection between the both of them.
2. Could Taha Aki be alive today? Discuss theories.
The way the legend was decribed automatically made me think it was something that took place a long time ago and that Taki Aki was dead. I suppose it's possible that he could be alive, and maybe that would play a role in the next book. Then again, maybe not - I believe this legend has already been established in Eclipse. The way it came across was that Taki Aki was not alive, and I think it was supposed to be that way. I would have to say no.
3. What do you think Jacob is hoping will change by taking Bella to the meeting?
Jacob takes pride in those legends now - after finding out that they really are true. I don't blame him for wanting to share them with the girl he's in love with - I think it's actually an honor for Bella and very kind of him. He wants Bella to kind of be more involved with this strong part of him. He probably feels as if Bella is very closley involved with the Cullens and the vampires, and he wants to show Bella what the werewolves are all about. He knows that the legends are like magic, and truthfully, he knows Bella better than anyone else and probably knew she would enjoy something like that, which she did.

I'm sure he also wanted her to really meet his friends again - she was close with them once before, and meet some people, like Kim, that she hadn't met before.

Maybe Jacob is thinking that Bella's thinking towards the werewolves will change. He knew that before Bella liked them and hung out with the others quite a bit - but he's probably wondering what Edward might say about them to her and he wants to bring her back into his circle of friends and make her feel like she belongs there.

He also probably wants Bella to know that the other werewolves aren't mad at her for accepting the Cullens back into her life, and that by going, she wouldn't be treated like an outsider. She would have fun, and feel comfortable and safe.
4. Why is Bella so disturbed by the idea of Edward's identification with Heathcliff?
I'm not too much of a Heathcliff expert, but I'm going to have to go with what everyone else has said so far. We know that Edward has a much darker soul than he lets on because he's trying to protect Bella, but Bella isn't exactly aware of that. She does, however, see the darker soul in Heathcliff, and to see that Edward was comparing himself to Heathcliff probably surprised her and made her shudder for obvious reasons stated. Also, the words drank his blood freaked her out even more, because well, he's a vampire and it's a creepy passage.

1. In what ways does Bella identify with the third wife?
she was human and Bella like the 3rd wife would sacrifice herself to save those that she loves

2. Could Taha Aki be alive today? Discuss theories.
no i think that the story was ment to make us think that it took place a really long time ago so i'll have to say no

3. What do you think Jacob is hoping will change by taking Bella to the meeting?
that she would dislike vampires less by listening to the stories by the wolves side.

4. Why is Bella so disturbed by the idea of Edward's identification with Heathcliff?
because i think Edward would potentially be able to kill Jake if he really wanted to but he hasn't because Bella does love Jake

4. I think Bella is affected by this so strongly because Wuthering Height's character's relate alot to the characters that play in Bella's life/the series. Heathcliff represents Edward in a sense that everybody has described above (he just so happens to also have black eyes, Heathcliff was only cruel because that was is way of expressing is love for Catherine and also his attitude when he is seeking revenge), Bella represents Catherine because Heathcliff did love Catherine, Edgar represents Jacob because Edgar and Heathcliff are eachother's foils, enemies. I don't know who the heck Isabella represents...Anyhow, Heathcliff doesn't marry Catherine, he marries Isabella. And it happens as Edgar and Catherine get married. GASP!..But doesn't the name Isabella ring a bell-a! It's all very confusing but if you read the book Wuthering Heights and compare these two books you may understand.

1. In what ways does Bella identify with the third wife?
they're both "the human". normal. nondescript. & both have loved ones putting their lives in danger for her.. or their village.

2. Could Taha Aki be alive today? Discuss theories.
okay, im not too sure. i think he could. i think he was the animal that james was hunting. -- we heard this when eddie was talking to victoria during the fighting scene in eclipse.

3. What do you think Jacob is hoping will change by taking Bella to the meeting?
i think jake wants to show bella how comfortable she clearly is around his home.. or crowd. how easily she fits in. and how much she actually enjoys being around "the most exclusive club on the reservation".. or something like that.

4. Why is Bella so disturbed by the idea of Edward's identification with Heathcliff?
when she saw "drink his blood", she got the wrong meaning. it was obvious that eddie saw himself as not being able to hurt bella by hurting jake.. even thought he dislikes him STRONGLY. it was a lot like the King Solomon story that Jake brings up.

In what ways does Bella identify with the third wife?

I think she identifies with the third wife because well she feels that she's the odd one out and scared in a way becasue what if someone got hurt. She also wants to help in any way to protect the ones she loves and will go to any extent to fulfill that just like the third wife to protect her kids and husband.

Could Taha Aki be alive today? Discuss theories

Maybe but I think it said that once you imprint you start aging but who knows maybe
.
What do you think Jacob is hoping will change by taking Bella to the meeting?

He probably wants the vampires to be left as the bad guys in the legends so that Bella can change her mind about Edward.

Why is Bella so disturbed by the idea of Edward's identification with Heathcliff?

I actually haven't read Wuthering Heights so I can't have a certain perspective for this one

1. In what ways does Bella identify with the third wife?
To do what little she can. Because she's only human.

2. Could Taha Aki be alive today? Discuss theories.
Yeah, I guess. I wonder...

3. What do you think Jacob is hoping will change by taking Bella to the meeting?
That she wouldn't want to become a vampire.

4. Why is Bella so disturbed by the idea of Edward's identification with Heathcliff?
I have no idea why, Edward only wants her happy.

1. In what ways does Bella identify with the third wife?

I think Bella identifies with the third wife because the wife was "ordinary" and yet she was surrounded by people that were not. Her husband had a "super power" as did her children.

2. Could Taha Aki be alive today? Discuss theories.

I think it could be possible. The legend never really did say if he died or not. He would still have to be in wolf form. It would be interesting if Taha Aki was Billy Black. Just a thought...I'm sure it's not true.

3. What do you think Jacob is hoping will change by taking Bella to the meeting?

I think Jake was hoping that he would give Bella something to think about before she changed. I'm not sure that he believed that he would change her mind as soon as she heard the stories.

4. Why is Bella so disturbed by the idea of Edward's identification with Heathcliff?

I think Bella is so distrubed by this because in earlier chapters Edward was talking about how Wuthering Heights is not a love story..."it's a hate story." They both discuss the flaws that Cathy and Heathcliff both have. I think what disturbed her the most was the killing and drinking blood part. I think she missed the point that as long as Bella wanted Jacob in her life Edward wouldn't do anything to harm him even if he didn't like the situation.

1. In what ways does Bella identify with the third wife?
She feels that she is the only one to stop the conflict, so that nobody will get hurt. The only way to save the others is to sacrifice herself.

2. Could Taha Aki be alive today? Discuss theories.
I think he could be alive today. From what I understood is that you have to give up being a werewolf to grow old. I'm not sure if it works the other way around. Maybe Jacob will run into him.

3. What do you think Jacob is hoping will change by taking Bella to the meeting?
His feelings for him? Or maybe the whole idea of giving up being mortal?

4. Why is Bella so disturbed by the idea of Edward's identification with Heathcliff?
Because it mentioned the blood and killing. And the fact that Heathcliff is bitter'even though she doesn't seem to think of him as a bad character. Maybe she sees herself as Cathy causing Edward/Heathcliff to act this way.

1. She's helpless compared to the others. She wants to keep her loved ones safe and is willing to risk her own life to do so.

2. I'm not sure. Maybe if he is, Jake might meet up with him and Taha Aki will talk some sense into Jake and he'll go home.

3. He wants her to learn more about what they are. Plus, maybe he was hoping for it to be a romantic night by the fire.

4. I haven't read that book, but I assume it had something to do with the word vampire. And also maybe she realized that Edward wanted to kill Jake, but that he wouldn't to keep Bella happy.
