Sequels

Post by Cocoa »

Stephenie has already stated that were she to write sequels the books would be a trilogy. The Host, The Seeker, and the Soul.

What are your thoughts on the possible sequals to this epic story?

I would love to have sequels to the Host, but I think I remember reading something where Stephenie said that if she were to continue the story, characters would have to die, which makes me fear for my favorites.

Also, I wonder if we would see much of Mel & Jared considering we didnt really in the Epilogue, it was mostly about Ian & Wanderer.

I want sequels like erm now...for some reason I have this sneaky suspicion that Burns is a double Agent? lol yea...and I'm not a fan of characters dying, as it was slightly uncontrolled sobbing when I thought that happened to Wanderer...

Yes, I am afraid for my favourites too, because of the fact that SM said some have to die for there to be sequels. D:

Well, I'm thinking that the other books might have something to do with the fact that the souls are reproducing humans, and that maybe the humans will come back that way if the soul parents do not want to put another soul into their children. I would like to see something related to that, because it really is interesting that these humans could grow up around the influences of the souls, and perhaps they won't even need to be given to a soul if they are kind and compassionate in the beginning.

If she does write sequals, I wonder whose perspectives they would be in since the next two would be The Seeker and The Soul. It would be interesting to get those two different perspectives. Well, I guess for The Soul, it would have to be the perspective of the host, if that makes sense.

I felt content with the ending, but I would eat those sequals right up!

I agree. I would love sequels. I am totally happy with the way the book ended but I will always be interested in reading anything SM writes.

Honestly i just bought The Host so that i could meet Stephenie, but after i read it, i fell in love with the characters. If she makes sequels, I have a bad feeling that it'll end badly for a few of these beloved characters, and ii don't know if i can go through that. I'm torn between wanting more of the story and wanting the "happy" ending to just stay "happy".

At a Q&A I saw on youtube.com SM said that if she were to do sequels for The Host they would both be in Wanderer's point of view. She already has outlines for them, but like someone said before, people will have to die and she said that will slow her writing down.

Sorry I don't have the link, but I'm trying to find it.

I really would like sequels. Agreeing with everyone here, I would hate for any of the characters to die. I cried enough when Wes and Walter died who are just minor characters. It would really bug me for that to happen. I really hope Stephenie wouldn't really do that. Don't you think she would have a bunch of angry fans to deal with?

I REALLY want it to be a sequel..!! It can't end, it was a too good book to end..!
I have never cried more in my entire life for a book, and I have never liked to cry because of a book
But I continued because even if I cried too often I loved it!!
I don't know how I would feel about if she are going to switch the main character, cuze it sounds like it when it stands The Seeker...
I would like it to continue from Wanda's perspectives...
Happiness rushed threw me
Like an arrow on the way to its goal
Now I finally can be free
Cause the arrow is now bearid in my soul
