I found Jamie to be extremely sweet and adorable. Yet he seemed very hardened because of the life he lives as a "rogue human", as I say, or maybe how the Souls would describe them. Living in the desert on the run all the time made sure he missed child-hood and such, running headlong into adulthood. There was still a child-like quality to him, though, which I found interesting. The way Wanderer and Melanie both assumed a very motherly relationship with him showed one of the reasons they (Wanderer/Melanie) became who they are.
*No. My eyes are often described as golden. And luminous.*

I loved Jamie!

He was such a sweetie, especially the way he accepted Wanda for who she is not the body she lives in!

I know he's older at the end of the book but I will always think of him as a little brother!

Jamie reminded me of a super young Jacob before he turned werewolf, like when Bella was talking to him on the beach that first time in Twilight.

Trying to be all grown up but just a tad to young to pull it off...
and of course we all love him for it

Yeah I agree, I saw a young Jake in Jamie! Jamie also reminded me a bit of Seth. They're both quite young but want to be included with the older ones, and don't want to be left behind. Jamie with the raids, and Seth with the battle with the newborns! :D

Ah yes, I already said that Jamie reminds me of Jake, but Seth is even more fitting ,I agree. We always hear Bella worrying that Seth seems so young and boyish to fight, but he is always so eager to fight and prove himself.

I think is is the same as when Jamie got given the gun to protect Wanda/Mel and 'his thin chest swelled'
Wanda said: "what are you thinking giving a weapon to a child?"
And then jamie's response: "I'm not a child," he muttered...his chin jutting out belligerently.

But I think Stephenie pictured him too yound and naive for a teenager. On the other hand he spent many years without other kids and all these things that belong to growing up, so I guess that's okay.

He handles Wanda much better than the adults do.

I had no choice but to love him. :D

Actually, I noticed this too. Just from my experience with 14 year old teenage boys... NONE of them are quite this naive nor this kind. SM's interpretation kept making me think he was 9 or 10.

This does not change the fact that I adore Jamie, though.

haha,. glab to see I'm not the only one who saw a young Jake!

As soon as I read about his character I saw Jake. Even when I was explaining the plot to a friend I refered to him as Jacob. She stopped me and said, "Wait! She named another character Jacob :?: " and then I corrected myself.

Jaime had to be the most adorable chracter I have ever had the pleasure of reading. He was so brave and trusting.

He made me cry like a baby so many times, like when he stuck up for Wanda when Jared was picking on her. The way Wanda loved him and the way she cared for Jared were completly different and I think that's because Jaime was always kind to WANDA not just Melanie, when Jared was kind to Wanda BECAUSE of Melanie.

Jaime is a very real character and I admire him in more ways than one. <3456

Everytime Jamie appears in the book, I get tears in my eyes. He's just so sweet. He tries so hard to be an adult, but under that thin layer there is a kid who's in emotional pain, dealing with the loss of almost everyone he holds dear. I really don't see that much Jacob in him, and I always picture him looking like Freddie Highmore (as you could probably guess by my banner).

Well, Gran, you might have noticed that my boyfriend glitters. It's just something he does in the sun. Don't worry about it..."
