I. WANT. MORE. And I don't mean in a few years. I mean NOW. GAHHHHHHHHHH!
It was sooooooooooo good. I want more. That's all there is to it. And didn't Steph say she has it outlined as a trilogy? I hope so.
And I think it could have just ended there, if they hadn't met Burns and the others. That just sets up a sequel. There's more humans than they thought, something big gets to happen. It had better. I want more.

I saw a video where SM was on a talk show (I think it was called Utah something...) and the interviewers asked if she was doing a sequel and whose point of view it would be in. SM said that she did have the outlines for books 2 and 3 and that they would both be in Wanderer's point of view.

I'll try to find that video and post a link...has anybody else seen it?

I'm really happy that if she were to continue the series it would still be in Wanderer's point of view. I felt more connected to her than Mel, though I did love Melanie as a character. I just don't think Wanda's story is finished, SM is so creative there are probably tons of different ways she could go with the series.

I gotta say, I really can't wait for a sequel! I'm rereading The Host right now and I don't know if I'll be able to wait like 5 years for another one. But Stephenie deserves a break from all those stressful deadlines, so I'll just have to deal with it. :(

I, too, want more. I want to know if there are more "humanized" souls like Wanda and Burns and if they can be the catalysts for humans and souls to share the planet peacefully. Perhaps the souls who have had babies that they have not volunteered as hosts might have some effect on achieving that goal, too.

And it would be interesting to see answers in a sequel to some really minor questions I had, like what do the souls think/do when they discover they've been robbed of medicines and cryogenic tanks?

I want more!!!!!
I have to have it
I know that Stepehenie meyer said that she was not going to write another one but I need to know if there are other souls like Wanderer and hat their stories are, because somehow I doubt they are anything like Wanderers, so it would be neat to know about them, the whole wanda story is solved, but the entire story of the earth being inhabited by aliens and such, is not over.

I am content with the way things are now... I really don't want any sequels. I don't want anyone to die. I don't even want Kyle to die. I, however, wouldn't mind so UBBER romantic scenes between Wanda and Ian either....

I felt content with the ending, too. Of course I would read a sequal, but it was kind of a breath of fresh air to have a total resolution to this particular story. Now I don't have to drive myself crazy wondering what will happen to any of the characters. It think Stephenie did a great job of tying the story off, but leaving enough room for possible spin-off books. She's a genius.

I completely agree. I would of course read a sequel and how she ended it was amazing.

I have been lurking for awhile and have finally decided to post. I loved this book! And it continues to grow in my mind. We need the sequels. It seems as though she portrays the souls to be rather oblivious to the fact that some of them are "going native". Like they just figure that if you're having trouble with your host body you WILL notify your seeker or healer and they won't offer grown bodies anymore, problem solved. So if these rogue souls and remaining humans want to appeal to HUMANITY, they are going to have to find a way to deal with the ingnorance. On another note, when people say that they think Burns may be a double agent, remember that the humans with him have totally been convinced of his sincerity, while knowing about seekers I'm sure. They even mention how he has SAVED them time and again. The way SM portrays souls in general to be, I couldn't see any of the seekers going that far or the rest of the souls sending one of their own to do that. sorry so long :)
