Non-bookbased scenes

Discussion about the Twilight movie. It's all speculation until Summit Films actually produces a script and casts it.

And besides, we really need so see other sides, things we miss in the book like, what the Cullens do when Bella is at home without Edward.
I always had the impression that they would just sit around looking like porcelain dolls. I mean what would you do if you never slept? The days must feel endless. I wonder if they would even show what the Cullen clan did when Bella isn't around.

I have always been and still am a little anxious about the non books scenes. But even more so I'm a little scraed they'll leave out that one important bit and I'll walk away from a brilliant movie thinking in my head ''What about that bit''

(Whatever bit it is for the indiviual)

hmm.. me too. that would be cool.. but we must remember that bella doesnt see Alice or Edward's power thru their POV.. its just bella's. so i think maybe we'll see Alice go still and get the far away look in her eyes..
NETSPEAK IS SO UNATTRACTIVE PLEASE FIX ME!.
it would be cool to zooooomm in to the future though.
but thats not how it was in the book..

but i too am a fan of non-based book scenes. :]

It would be really nice if Catherine put an Alice vision scene in the movie, like when James are running after Bella. That would be freaking awesome! 8)

Personally, I dont get why they have to change scenes... If you read the part where Edward and Bella talk about the accident, they are in the hospital. But in the movie, from what I got, they now have the discussion of the accident on a feild trip?? Like, that doesnt make any sense... Another thing I saw, was Alice, Jasper, and Emmett (thats who I figure it is anyway), dancing and screaming around a fire (probably after they kill James?). But I NEVER pictured Alice or Jasper acting like a bunch of crazy monkeys. I understand they need to change certain things, but they can keep alotthe same too... Like, couldnt they have Bella say her thoughts throughout the movie, kind of Narrating?

I am excited about the movie because it has given me a face for people like Emmett and Jasper, and the places will probably give me a better pciture of places (like the meadow. However, the meadow in my head is pretty awsome lol). I will just try and go see the movie as a movie and know that the book will always be better... But it will always be better because it is a book lol...

I kind of figured they were either trying to get the fire to build higher or celebrating the fact that James was burning. I wasn't sure but all I really have to go by is my impression from the book. Which I'm not really even sure if that was what they were doing because if you remember Alice was with Carlisle and Edward while Jasper and Emmett were the ones enjoying the fact of torching James.

Either way I know that the movie will never been word for word like the book, so I have already geared myself to expect that.

I think that if people get too hung up on differences, it's ALL you're going to see instead of appreciating the film for what it is. It's not going to be exactly like the book, and as stated many times, the reason for that is mainly because it's from Bella's perspective. I love the book, but I don't want to watch it all from her perspective.

As for putting some scenes somewhere else, honestly, is it that big of a deal? Are you going to despise the movie because Edward says "Seventeen" in the forest and not the car?

I'm sorry if that comes across as rude; it's not meant that way.

I agree. There is a huge difference between books and movies -- not every little detail is going to be accurate, and not every single scene from the book is going to be put in a two-hour movie. That's the reality.

The benefits of Twilight being made into a movie includes us being able to see more of what we couldn't through Bella's perspective. I don't know about you, but I don't want to see a movie with Bella narrating the entire thing, it would be way too predictable. It's also a way for us to enjoy the movie. Wouldn't it be boring if it were the exact same thing? A movie is not supposed to be like that, otherwise the movie is going to be BAD and it's not going to make a lot of money in the box office.

Like the producer said, they try to closely base the movie to the book, but at the same thing they also have a seperate responsibility to make the best movie they can make. I trust them with what they are doing, they're called professionals for a reason. From what I've seen, it looks like they're doing a fantastic job. We can't be so quick to judge from what we've seen so far because the movie hasn't even been released yet!

This is exactly the reason why I think they give away too much about the movie. People are going to get confused.

In other words, just wait until you see the movie! Then everything will make more sense!

Rant over.
Chela ;)
