Music Director Alexandra Patsavas

Discussion about the Twilight movie. It's all speculation until Summit Films actually produces a script and casts it.

*sighs in relief*
The music on Grey's Anatomy is brilliant. We're in good hands.

I'm just happy they've chosen someone so accomplished and talented... it means Summit is really serious about this film.

I'm so glad she's the music director. I love the music in The OC, and it really introduced me to new bands that I really like. And the songs she picks really convey the emotions really well (my fave is Imogen Heap - Hide and Seek Season 2 Finale of The OC). Yeah, she's just amazing.

is she going to go her own way in choosing music or is she going to use the writing inspiration as a jumping off point? i wouldn't really be surprised if the two had nothing to do with each other.

I'm not a big of Grey's or The OC, but I must admit that I love the music from both those shows. She has a really great ear for music, so I can't wait to see what she comes up for the soundtrack. I'm a little curious to see if she includes any music from Stephenie's playlist.

She'll probably use the writing as inspiration. The music from Gossip Girl and The OC are pretty different. The OC has indie music and less popular musicians, which is pretty close to Seth's (Adam Brody's character) taste in music. The music is easy.

In Gossip Girl, she uses more popular music because the book is pretty popular and mainstream... so mainstream music... there's some pop music too that's not too well known (like that one that i don't remember).

Yeah, Alex once said she gains inspiration more from what a character is feeling than what they would listen to in real life.

I think Twilight is a bit more OC/Grey's than GG. Cross your fingers and hope there's NO Rihanna lol.

I'm excited and love what I've heard from her other work. I'm hoping for lots of original stuff. I want a great love song/theme song that is instantly recognizable as Twilights. One of those great songs that makes the whole movie vulgar language is ugly for you with just a few notes.

This is great news! I love the soundtracks of OC, GG and Grey's (even if i'm not an avid viewer). I also love how Alex chooses musicians/music that are not mainstream.

Twilight may not be like GG, but the Gossip Girl soundtrack is perfect for GG. So, I don't think this will be a problem. :)

First off, I loveeee your avatar :D

But anyways, this is going to be difficult to explain.
It seemed like Alex was out of her comfort zone with the GG soundtrack.
Most of the time, she's way ahead of the radio, and picks songs that aren't big yet.
In GG, the songs she played had been out for months before the episode, and that really annoyed me.

Like, she played What Comes Around...Goes Around 6 months after it was on TRL.

By the time the episodes aired, no one was listening to half of the songs on the show anymore.

Does that make sense lol?
Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that I hope she choses songs that haven't hit MTV yet. Actually, I hope she chooses songs that will never be on MTV lol.
