Michael Welch cast as Mike Newton

Discussion about the Twilight movie. It's all speculation until Summit Films actually produces a script and casts it.

i'm not going to lie, he is VERY cute. But i don't know, i think he looks a little....young? i don't really know how to describe it. Maybe he's too cute....maybe i just don't like mike....

I thought he looked a little young too. However, the second picture I posted he looks a bit older and it's probably newer. Most of the pictures I noticed on his IMDB page are quite old.

EDIT: Also, he looks a bit older in the first picture <a href="http://www.michaelwelchonline.com/photo ... l">here</a>. High school aged looking. I'm assuming the first few are more recent.

I had never heard about him before, but so far he seems like a very good choice! Haven't seen much of his acting, but I'm browsing YouTube as I speak to try and find more videos with him. Looks wise... He's honestly the first member of the cast where I immediately thought "Perfect". And yet he looks nothing like the Mike in my head. :) I can really see him in the role, so the producers hit head-on with this choice IMO.

Like midnight_fix said, I always imagined Mike to be a really good looking, popular kid. He covers the baby face aspect almost perfectly, though.
I think he'll do good as Mike. So far, the casting is all good. :)

I thougth that too! He looks about 14 in this profile picture! If you watch his latest film trailer though, he does look to be high school aged and he sounds mature. I think it's all going to come together nicely in the end.

Unless my eyes totally deceives me, he's born in '87. That makes him 21 this year. :wink:

He looks almost too cute for Mike to me. lol But if he'll be annoying and if he can act, then I'm fine with him. I don't really like to judge who I like, before I see the movie.

Oooer he's perfect! I love Mike, personally, so I was hoping they'd do a good job on casting him. And I'm not disappointed. :D

Hes perfect. he does seem alittle young. but then again makeup can do wonders. as long as he can play the part.
