Screen Chemistry

Discussion about the Twilight movie. It's all speculation until Summit Films actually produces a script and casts it.

I think Rob and Kristen will have fantastic screen chemistry. The same as Jackson and Ashley and Nikki and Kellan.
I'm not to sure about Peter and the actress thats playing Esme (Urgh..I forgot her name. :? ). We will have to see.
But other than that, I can see the others really going well together, couple-wise.
Though I'm wondering about the chemistry between the Cullens as a family. Especially between Edward and Alice. I really want to see how that works out. :)

Ok, totally agree with the Atonement observation, they radiated love for one another which is what makes the movie so heartbreaking...

And my personal favorite example of screen chemistry is Jim and Pam from the Office. You can't watch the show, even before they were together, and not know they were in love.
And I think this movie will have the same feel... Bella, like Pam, totally regular, who can't relate? And then Jim, not necessarily as perfect and breathtaking as Edward, but still pretty wonderful, that you want the girl to win, to get the guy and believe that he truly loves her.

I think they're going to be great. Even in the pictures, from the way Kristen looks at him, there's a lot of admiration there... I really can't wait!

I've seen all these pictures floating around the movie sets and actors. But it seems to me, everyone of them have Kristen standing on one side of the set and Robert on the other. I never see them standing together. And Kristen always looks bored.
Am I the only one whose noticed this?? Does this mean that they don't get along?? Or just bad timing of picture takers.

Somebody please prove me wrong about this... are they working well together??
Some extras have posted on various forums about their observations while on set. (Check out the Lexicon Blog for the links.) And Kiki from Kelmett-Happens has reported pretty detailed accounts of how Robert and Kristen get along well on and off set...they talk, laugh, eat/have coffee together and such. More important, though, is their on-screen chemistry, which by all accounts so far seems like it will blow us away. (But really, let's not set our expectations too high, lest we be disappointed...)

Dont they kind of have to eat together/hang out? Something called 'team building'...and getting along well doesn't necessarily mean they have the chemistry we're looking for. [just an opinion]

UnLuckyDuck: I noticed those too. It looks like Kristen doesn't really mingle much with the cast and enjoy it as much as the rest. But that's just in the pictures. We don't really know.

I think they will be great together.

And also, we might not see alot of Kristen around the set as she is underage & can't work as long as some. & she does have to do her schooling etc.

They cast FOR chemistry. See, they already read Kristen for the role earlier on, so when they were looking for the perfect Edward, my bet was that Kristen was there reading with him.

And they probably casted Rob from that. :)

At least, that's how the productions I've been to cast...

I think it's easy to have on-screen chemistry... the actors have to hang out and work together, its almost inevitable that they would become friends at least- unless theres a sour personality amongst the bunch.

As for on-screen couples chemistry, I think Kristen and Robert will be great. I'm sure they both understand the importance of how they portray the connection between Edward and Bella, lol. Kristen is an AWESOME actress, that I know and I bet Edward is too... learning to be good to your co-workers all ties into that! If you're having a bad day onset, you might scream into a pillow in your trailer and walk out smiling... [[shrugs]]

once again, I have faith!
Yours,
Jenna

I agree with this. I feel it's important to get Edward and Alice's dynamic right. I think it helped readers to understand Edward's personality better when we read how he is was with Alice in comparison to the rest of his family, and I hope it is given the attention it deserves in the film.

I'm with this one too... their close brother/sister-like relationship is super important too! of course, I'm more concerned with the chemistry between Bella & Edward being the way it should (which, it seems like all is good there) BUT we can't forget this relationship either.....

in my mind, although Edward was close with his "brothers & sisters", in the beginning, I still pictured him a little... well, off in his own world I guess. at that point, they had found the love of their lives... and he hadn't. I think finding Bella, has actually brought him closer to them. anyone agree?

Jenna

Man, with the new behind the scene video out from Entertainment Tonight, there is one part where Rob (Edward) is looking at Kristen (Bella) after stopping the van from crushing her..they look at each other intensly.
You can see him "smolder". I don't know how else to describe it, just by looking at her, he is so intense...(you can't see Kristen's face at that angle, but who wouldn't go gaga over a smoldering look like that?)

So, I feel assured that the chemistry is there. Those 1-2 seconds made me believe.
