And also, just in case Kristen might end up heading over here and reading what you all say, try to keep your complaints, should you have them, reasonable and in a tone that isn't purely hateful.
Personally, I think they picked a great Bella. No one is ever going to fit the "perfect" image I have in my mind, but Kristen is a strong girl. She has BROWN HAIR, and I have been so worried that they would cast someone blonde and dye their hair. She has a beauty that is very unique and not typical, which is exactly what I picture for Bella. And in all the films I've seen her in, she is a very good actress. Most importantly, for me, she isn't well known for being a "teenie bopper". Nothing against teenie boppers, but Bella just isnt like that.

Re: Kristen Stewart as Bella
I couldn't agree more with this paragraph. I love the fact that they chose someone who is still fresh in Hollywood. She's not someone we read about in the tabloids every other day so she doesn't have that stigma with her name. There are a lot of actresses that I couldn't take seriously in this role if they had been chosen. I'm quite pleased with Kristen. I think she's very versatile in all the roles she has been in. Instead of being type-cast and stereotyped into every role, I see her bring something different to everything I've seen her work on.Alphie wrote: Personally, I think they picked a great Bella. On top of that, I agree, she has a different look about her. I think that's one of the main reasons that I thought of her as Bella before the rumors even started. She has that "plain" type of beauty about her, she isn't "faked". After watching interviews of her and how seriously she takes her job and how passionate she is about it, I'm even more thrilled.
I can't wait to see her bring this to life.
That's my ONLY complaint, but I can live with it because it's not too big a deal. They can fix that with camera angles and depending on who they cast for Edward (mainly because I picture her as short next to him even though I know it's been stated she is 5'4'' elsewhere).dark author wrote:She kind of looks like how I imagined Bella to be but I always thought Bella was shorter.

i am actually very very very happy with their pick for Bella.
I am glad that Stephenie liked her too.
I just love Kristen Stewart. She was so good in In the land of women. Shes very good at her work.
I can't wait to see her in like New Moon if they make it in to a movie. She could play Reckless Bella so well.
I am so excited. Shes so pretty and down to earth. and shes my age, which makes me more excited.
i think she will bring Bella to life very well.

That's something else I forgot. I enjoy that they picked someone around her age instead of someone who was like...twenty-something playing a teenager like they do with most movies.daniiidarko wrote:i am actually very very very happy with their pick for Bella.

Also, I hope to GOD they make the rest of the books into a movie. Seriously, and I hope they keep her as the actress.

I was really impressed with her a couple of years ago in Panic Room. Anyone who can hold their own at a young age with multi-Oscar winner Jodi Foster has some serious talent in my view!
I also noticed that she has Speak on her resume. Speak is an intense and awesome book ( go read if you haven't ). If she can handle all the nuisances of Melinda in Speak, then in my opinion, she it totally going to do it with Bella!

I am so excited about this casting choice! I've been trying to keep my expectations for the movie low, so I wouldn't be disappointed. However, if someone would have asked me who I thought would make a great Bella, Kristen Stewart would have been my pick. She's not overly beautiful but there's something very interesting about her on screen. You really can't take your eyes off her and she seems very natural and at ease. I also think she will be fantastic with the slightly awkward, clumsy Bella parts. I can't wait!

I love how she isn't a normal teenage girly girl.
which is perfect because we all know Bella isn't
and she seems like one of those people who if someone was like yeah, i'm a vampire.
it wouldn't faze her much. she would be like sick...
I just really can actually picture her as Bella.

Wow! now the party started! i was about time...
Well, i just saw some pics of that young actress on the web so i cant judge at all. She is really beautyful! not that flat empty faces that usually comes from Hollywood (if i may write that way...
) and I am curious how she will act as Bella.
So I forget all my doubts about the movie.
i have to see it...
I keep my fingers crossed for Kristen Stewarts!!!
and...
i think it is so great (and typical for the level of this board) to remind the avid and fanatic fans to stay polite.
some of the fanbase are able to be a supermassive monster forgetting
that it is a book -
a movie -
things that should entertain
make us laugh and cry
and make us NOT bite our heads off because of the cast of a role...

I'm really happy that they cast her as Bella.
Emily Browning seemed like an okay person, but after watching "Series of Unfortunate Events" last night I prayed, Dear God not her. And then I watched Messenger's right after it and I thought Ooh. Oh Go-od, I found someone who could play Bella!
Like you guys were saying, she's pretty, but not fake pretty.
She looks like the Bella you would expect in New Moon as well. I can't wait to see who they choose as Edward. Of course, no one will be happy with that decision. XD
