Movie News--OFFICIAL MOVIE STATUS HERE

Discussion about the Twilight movie. It's all speculation until Summit Films actually produces a script and casts it.

melting into you wrote:Hum, I think the casting has been amazing. The clips I've seen have been right on. You can't take a book with so many pages and put every scene in. Some of the scenes added look fun and seem to enhance the movie. Stephenie is very pleased. I think we will be too. It's hard when you are seeing bits and pieces. Maybe when you see the whole movie you'll be pleasantly surprised. I hope so cause we all love the books so much.

Aw, Robert is the perfect Edward, really. You'll see when you see more of him. I'm amazed how James looks exactly as I visioned. Kristen is Bella. It's spot on the casting.

The only thing I'm upset with is I don't understand why Entertainment Weekly has Edward on the cover with his shirt open and it looking like a romance novel. It's not at all what Edward is all about and his finger nails are grossly dirty which has been air brushed to show I guess he feeds at night. The inside of EW is great, the cover... not so much.

I'd like to see guys interest perked as well as ours. It's an action adventure romance. They need to have some posters that reflect that. BUT I love, super love all the coverage. It's so exciting. I hope by Dec. you have a little bit of a thrill going. I know it's hard being a fan, huh?

I agree here. I mean you have to give Hardwick some credit. It's not like they can sculpt the perfect Edward and put him on screen. We have to bite the bullet and realize that we do live in a reality where no one is perfect & in my opinion if SM is pleased with the cast to act out the characters SHE created, then we need to appreciate that much and accept the actors who have been cast. In my opinion i think Pattinson is doing an amazing job, all of the scenes are in point and i couldn't imagine then coming out any better. As mentioned by Stewart, they put everything they had into the roles & that's all we can ask of them. I really don't think it helps too much to criticize the movie as a whole and totally nullify the fact that they are trying to bring a book that we all love to life.

Sure, we'll have our disagreements here & there but there really is no need to criticize the actors who gave it their best :? i hope that anyone who is really disappointed in the progress of the movie so far will be surprised & pleased once the movie is actually released; sure you can base your opinions & what not, but please try to keep it at a respectable level cause i mean i'm positive most of us would come no where near acceptable in trying to capture the full effect of Twilight & put it up on the big screen.

I was wondering... Could someone please help me?

I went out during my lunch to pick up a copy of EW -- except I can't find it anywhere! Does it come out on newsstands on a different day other than today? I tried four places and all they had was the issue with Batman on the cover.

A little help, please? *puppy dog eyes*

Making any sort of movie adaptation, particulary of a novel that tops out at over 500 pages, is tough. I think it says good things about the movie that Stephenie is pleased, like Melting Into You mentioned above.

I also think the movie will be a good thing in that it might bring new fans to the series. I know I hadn't had any interest in reading the books until I saw the trailer in a theater ... and now I can't imagine my life without them! :)

I also think it's important to wait until you see an actor's performance in a role to judge them. I know I pictured a few of the Cullen's competely differently, but the way they portray their roles will make it or break it for me. Like with the Harry Potter movies, I had imagined all the characters in a certain way while reading the books. Seeing the actors portray those characters made me change my imagination-created images a little, but Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint (and the others) did so well in their roles that I didn't mind having to change my internal images. I think it's the character that matters the most; as long as we can see our beloved Twilight crew in the actors' performances, I think we'll be okay.

I bought it last night at a grocery store so it's out in Los Angeles. It was not at Barnes and Noble. Speaking of.... our B&N is doing a prom theme at midnight for Breaking Dawn. Crowning King and Queen. Cute. Too bad I pre-ordered it.

I feel bad when I read fans not liking Robert as Edward. The guy has worked so hard to give us the perfect Edward and whatever scenes I've seen it is like he stepped out of the pages as well as the rest of the cast.

There was one casting I was bummed about, but it's grown on me so much once I saw more. I think out of respect for the actors who tried so hard to get it right (and to me it looks like they did) and Stephenie herself loving how it went, she was on set she knows, we need to be thankful this didn't turn into something God awful. I think we are so, so lucky and it goes to Catherine for being as dedicated as we are as fans.

I don't want to discount anyone's opinion, they all count. Just feel maybe it's best to see the movie first in it's complete form and even if there are some things that might upset someone, just know they tried 150% on this movie. I think everyone involved would be crushed if as a fan we were bashing it. I know I'm going to love whatever it is. How lucky are we that we even get a movie and a good one with a great director and awesome casting director. :)

I have to wait till August 4th for the release of Breaking Dawn, so if you don't see me until the 5th, you know why!
