the look of the cullens

Discussion about the Twilight movie. It's all speculation until Summit Films actually produces a script and casts it.

For Alice and Rosalie's clothes, I don't think they would wear halter and tank tops. Since it's winter and really cold in Forks, I think they would stick with jeans and sweaters, especially since they are trying to say incospicious. With their really pale skin, good looks, and wierd color changing eyes, I think the Cullens are going to wear something that everyone else in school is wearing. Of course, they would look so much better in their outfits than anyone else :D

Based on Bella's description in "Twilight" (Ch2, pg32):
"...they were all dressed exceptionally well; simply, but in clothes that subtly hinted at designer origins."

But, to a certain extent, it will depend on who they're marketing the movie to as well as to what decisions the production designer/art director makes along with the director. Are they going to go for a broader more general audience or go more specific to the horror direction because of the vampires, or go more for drama because of the romance and all the teen fans...will it be rated PG or for a more adult audience. That kind of stuff.

Would be absolute fun to work on the visual development of the characters for the Twilight movie...whatever the case. :)

Well, I'd hope that the casting people and makeup artists would stick to that pale look. I think the preppy clothes would be better, but I'm okay with dark clothes too, as long as they don't look tacky or cliche.

I'd really hate it if Edward or Rosalie were tan. :|

I think they'll still have their fancy outfits and wardrobe, but it will have a more darker feel. Not anything gothic of course, but fancy clothes consiting of dark fabrics and stuff. I think that would look wonderful anyways.
And they all better have pale skin. I don't want no tanned california chicks and surfer dudes. No way.

I imagined the Cullens fairly conservative for people their age, even Rosalie.

Sweaters for the guys, and I specifically imagined Edward in a white button up shirt with a collar with the sleeves rolles up to his elbows. (Wait, I think that was in the first chapter of Twilight when Bella was noticing how strong his arms looked. Right!)

Alice, I imagined wearing fun clothes, but not those funky outfits you see at Target with the flowers stitched along the but and ruffles on the neckline. Nah. I mean that she'd have a wide range of clothing, with things that look fashionable but like you could find them in some high-end thrift shop or something. I also think she embraces her height, and doesn't really go for huge heels...more flats than anything.

Rosalie, I imagine she'd want to look like an average teenager of her age (Just incredibly more beautiful.) since she is the one that morns for her lost humanity. But I also think that she would try to accentuate her beauty, but nothing to vulgar. I would hate it if the movie directors stuck her in full on Abercrombie and Hollister clothes. Just not Rosalie.

who are your choices for the cast?

Post by Misako »

The Cullens are going to need some serious "high school designer" wardrobe...nothin like armani but maybe more along the lines of Tommy? Ralf? Abercrombie even? and as for the rest of the students..i think small town clothes will do best since they seem to be lacking of a good mall in the town of Forks lol.

Welcome to the Lex! But please read the top post of this forum and note that discussions of actors/actresses not officially cast are not allowed.

I was also thinking...Banana Republic clothes? I was reading the Edward shoe thread and somebody came up with a good Edward outfit. That way the Movie people wouldn't have to spend thousands of dollars on one outfit.

Ahh! The Bella and Alice one are almost exactly how I imagined them!

Bella, just a little less...coordinated I guess. Those clothes, just thrown together all wrong with rain boots.

Alice is perfect, down to the adorable boots and jewelery.

Edward, I imagined a little more sweater-y than polo-y. Ha. And I don't picture him wearing shoed like that.
