Soundtrack to the movie ...

Discussion about the Twilight movie. It's all speculation until Summit Films actually produces a script and casts it.

Jesse McCartney: Because You Live
Staring out at the rain with a heavy heart
It's the end of the world in my mind
Then your voice pulls me back like a wake up call
I've been looking for the answer
Somewhere
I couldn't see that it was right there
But now I know what I didn't know

Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, girl
My world has twice as many stars in the sky

It's alright, I survived, I'm alive again
because of you, made it through every storm
What is life, what's the use if you're killing time
I'm so glad I found an angel
Someone
Who was there when all my hopes fell
I want to fly, looking in your eyes

Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, girl
My world has twice as many stars in the sky
Because you live, I live

Because you live there's a reason why
I carry on when I lose the fight
I want to give what you've given me always

Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, girl
My world has twice as many stars in the sky

Because you live and breathe
Because you make me believe in myself when nobody else can help
Because you live, girl
My world has everything I need to survive

Because you live, I live, I live

It can be from Bella's perspective. Of course change girl to boy but yeah....I think it kind of works. :?
Wow I really think that is perfect for them!! Especially from Bella's persepective, but from Edward's too, cause I think his life's been really empty without her in it. Nice find!
"And the sound of your heart...It's the most significant sound in my world." ~ Edward Cullen

As much McCartney's lyrics fit the story of Twilight, I'm really hopping they will be no Much Music Top 30 or any Billboard kind of stuff. I mean most of the songs on there get dated in a hurry and once they hit theaters, well the songs turns over to the side of cliched and/or predictable. Eh, just my 2 cents. Plus with Twilight's small-town-feel, I would imagine the Soundtrack being folk, indie, light alternative and of course catchy. Flow Rida or Kat Perry is just way to out of it's element

Rooney, Kills, The Virgins, Islands, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Last Shadow Puppets, The Vines, The Like, Kooks, Wolf Parade (I could go on forever with this but) are some fantastic bands which I would love to see in Twilight, but I'm hopping it won't be full of already coming-to-be-indie/alter.-bands. Alex.P has a knack finding these underground artist's. Plus the movie industry is picking up on the whole 'unknown musicians make a good movie thing'; lately I've been seeing films promoting soundtracks and I'm seeing even more indie bands and singers in them.
Aur ... I really really hope this is not for the sake of a "trend", if there's some cliched teeny-bopper movie using Radiohead or The Gossip just to get the movie more populated onto music blogs than music really has died :|

Yeah I think small town bands would better fit the story plus I'm really expecting it to be a lot of some classical/ orchestra stuff. I only mentioned Jesse Mccartney for the lyrics not the teeny-bopper that he is. hahaha

i agree with you 100% on everything said.

Also I've been listening to the She & Him album (zooey deschanel and M.Ward) and WOW. it's absolutely stunning. I wouldn't mind if one of their songs made it on the album.

this has probably already been mentioned because it's absolutely perfect for twilight and i can't believe i didn't think of it before, but how about lullaby by the spill canvas:

It's a little upbeat for Edward, but I think "I'm in Love With a Girl" by Gavin DeGraw could be an interesting pick.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXTr9dLECfg

I especially think these lyrics:

I'm in love with a girl who knows me better,
Fell for the woman just when I met her,
Took my sweet time when I was bitter,
Someone understands,
And she knows how to treat a fella' right,
Give me that feeling every night,
Wants to make love when I want to fight,
Now someone understand me...

Fit Edward and Bella's relationship.

Outside, on bench. Just listen, it's kind of Sufjan Stevens meets Spill Canvas, and as you can tell from the title, totally goes with the story.]
OH MY GOODNESS!
I LOVE THIS SONG NOW!!
IT'S SOOO ROMANTIC!!
:D
Ahhh!!
Sorry I just listened it once and I loved it!
Thanks
:D
Yay, glad you liked it :D
Sequoyah Prep School does not have the fan base they deserve. I like them because they're 'guilty pleasure indie'. You could hear that song at Hollister, or read about them in Nylon, because they have such a versatile sound.

<Center>I've had a recent obsession. And when I say obsession I mean it. Chester French. Call me crazy, because this is really big thing to say, but they remind me tons of what a modern-day indie version of The Beatles would sound like. They're wonderful, how could anyone hate this band? Anyways, the song People by them is exactly what Bella and Edward's first kiss needs.

Say! No, no, no, no. no one's ever going to find us.
So you might as well complain woah
No! No! No! No! No one's ever going to find us.
So you might as well complain.

I LOVE that verse of the song, I think it's perfect for the climax of the scene, of couse the kiss.
