1. Were you at all surprised by the description Bella gave of the dullness that surrounded her life for the past four months? How did that make you feel?

No wasn't surprised at all, what would you expact after she lost the love off her live? I felt really awful....

2. Did you agree with Charlie that Bella should go and be with her mother again? Why or why not?

No what makes him think that she would do better somewhere else? Edward wouldn't be there either so whats the difference? Not being in Forks doesn't seem like a good idear to me.

3. Bella chose to spend her first attempt at normalcy with Jessica Stanley. Why do you think she chose Jess and not one of her other friends? Do you think Jess was a good choice? How do you think this event impacted their relationship?

good choice. Jess doesn't seem to notice as much as all the others and she is so selfish that she almost always talks about herself. so no hard quistions for bella thats good. But it didn't do any good for ther relationship...

4. When Bella first heard Edward's voice, did you think it was REALLY his voice or just in her head? What do you think of her solution to hear his voice more often by putting herself in danger?

First i thought What? He's back! But that only lasted one second. Her solution is a little overreaction i think but though i don't now what i would have done. I never lost the love of my live so i don't now....

1. Were you at all surprised by the description Bella gave of the dullness that surrounded her life for the past four months? How did that make you feel?

I thought it made sense, because there was nothing in her life as important to her as Edward, and that whole reason for her existence desensitized her so that when it vanished, nothing could fill in that hole.

2. Did you agree with Charlie that Bella should go and be with her mother again? Why or why not?

I thought it would have helped. It wasn't necessarily what she wanted, but she really did need to stop brooding.

3. Bella chose to spend her first attempt at normalcy with Jessica Stanley. Why do you think she chose Jess and not one of her other friends? Do you think Jess was a good choice? How do you think this event impacted their relationship?

Jess was her first friend. This was an obvious attempt to make things the way they used to be, before she fell in love with Edward. Jess is very self-centered, and Bella had her own issues, so I don't think it was a good choice. When Jess saw Bella run off recklessly, she probably felt uncomfortable and ignored, which definitely made her bitter later on.

4. When Bella first heard Edward's voice, did you think it was REALLY his voice or just in her head? What do you think of her solution to hear his voice more often by putting herself in danger?

I think her mind was saving up memories of Edward for when she was in danger, so that she'd have some strength to hold onto. It was sort of like a drug high for her, so I can't say I blamed her. What else could she do?

1. Were you at all surprised by the description Bella gave of the dullness that surrounded her life for the past four months? How did that make you feel?
I wasnt surprised at all at how Bella descibed the dullness of her life after Edward left. Edward is her life and her existence. Without him, she feels no reason to live anymore. It made me feel horrible and I cried for her. I hated the way New Moon started out with Edward leaving her.

2. Did you agree with Charlie that Bella should go and be with her mother again? Why or why not?
No because Renee probly would have made it more difficult for Bella. Forks was the only reminder she had of Edward and even if she wanted to get rid of any trace of him, she never would hav been able to let go. Also, if she hadnt stayed, Jake (even though I reely dont like him) would never have helped her get out of the gloom. He was her sun and helped her stay alive during the time Edward was gone. If she would have died, Edward would have destroyed himself.

3. Bella chose to spend her first attempt at normalcy with Jessica Stanley. Why do you think she chose Jess and not one of her other friends? Do you think Jess was a good choice? How do you think this event impacted their relationship?
I think she chose Jess because of how she had neglected Jess when she was with Edward. She felt a little bit sorry about how she had treated her. I do and dont think Jess was a good choice. Jess probly was a good choice because she probly would have helped Bella get Edward off her mind as much as possible and would have felt more comfortable going with Jess, but at the same time, Jess was not a very good friend to be with. This implacated their relationship kind of badly until graduation because of what happened when they were in Port Angeles. Jess was very mad at Bella.

4. When Bella first heard Edward's voice, did you think it was REALLY his voice or just in her head? What do you think of her solution to hear his voice more often by putting herself in danger?
I actually thought at first that Edward came back!! Then i reely started crying! I thought he had actually come back to help Bella, but it ended up just being his voice. When I realized this, I thought it was his actual voice speaking to Bella to tell her right from wrong, like somehow he was able to communicate with her. I thought her solution was a little bit stupid, but I probly would hav done the same thing!! She just loved Edward so much she would do anything just to listen to his voice and to reassure herself he still loves her.

...and then you shot across my sky like a meteor

1. Were you at all surprised by the description Bella gave of the dullness that surrounded her life for the past four months? How did that make you feel?
No. Edward had consumed her life for months. After experiencing something so extraordinary, Forks would be pretty dull to anyone. Personally I bawled through most of this chapter. I think there are still tear stains on the pages. :(

2. Did you agree with Charlie that Bella should go and be with her mother again? Why or why not?
I can see is reasoning. Charlie is inept when it comes to dealing with emotional problems and Renee seems to be all emotions. I think Charlie thought that removing Bella from Forks would remove Edward from her mind. I agree with Charlie's reasoning, but I don't think Bella moving would have helped anything.

3. Bella chose to spend her first attempt at normalcy with Jessica Stanley. Why do you think she chose Jess and not one of her other friends? Do you think Jess was a good choice? How do you think this event impacted their relationship?
I think she chose Jessica because of how dim Jess seems to be. She seems to be very focused on the happening and quite the gossip. I don't think Bella would have expected Jessica to bring up the Cullens at all. For Bella's emotional sake, Jess was a great choice. This event concreted Jessica's attachment to "Them" (especially Lauren---yek!).

4. When Bella first heard Edward's voice, did you think it was REALLY his voice or just in her head? What do you think of her solution to hear his voice more often by putting herself in danger?
OMG. This one stumped me. I figured after the first time it was just in her head. I knew that Edward wouldn't let her put herself in danger like that. Her solution made me cry. You could feel the desperation and the pain in the decision.
I am Switzerland!

"I think she's having hysterics. Maybe you should slap her."

"If we could bottle your luck, we'd have a weapon of mass destruction on our hands."

this chapter is almost as sad as chapter three :(

1. Were you at all surprised by the description Bella gave of the dullness that surrounded her life for the past four months? How did that make you feel?

I was not surprised at all. It was actually exactly the way I would have expected her to react and even better the way Meyer describes it. It was painful to read about and I could feel the depth of hurt Bella was feeling. I could totally understand why she was treading the line between not allowing herself to think of Edward(denial), but not wanting to forget about him. She didn't want to feel the pain, but in order not to forget about him as well as to avoid the hurt of thinking about him, she was reduced to a numb state of mind.

2. Did you agree with Charlie that Bella should go and be with her mother again? Why or why not?

Not at all. Even before Bella explained why she did not want to leave Fork, I was thinking NO dont leave. Forks is the only thing left that was "Edward",(the WHOLE reason she stayed) that leaving would mean a step from him, from the knowledge of his existence, and existence of vampires. For someone trying to get over a relationship, a move would have been understandable, but not in this case.

3. Bella chose to spend her first attempt at normalcy with Jessica Stanley. Why do you think she chose Jess and not one of her other friends? Do you think Jess was a good choice? How do you think this event impacted their relationship?

She chose Jessica for minimal conversation and interaction, which was a good choice seeing as she was only going out because of Charlie and not because it was something she wanted to do. I think Jess is too selfish and shallow to understand the depth of Bella's pain so she does not understand why Bella is acting the way she is, so of course she was offended by the way she acted. This probably ruined their relationship, but I don't think it was at all Bella's fault. Its Jess inability to comprehend such misery and pain.

4. When Bella first heard Edward's voice, did you think it was REALLY his voice or just in her head? What do you think of her solution to hear his voice more often by putting herself in danger?

I did actually think it was him, or more I WANTED it to be him. I thought he was close by keeping an eye out. But after I while, I understood it wasn't. Bella thinks, as Edward wanted her to, that he doesn't care about her any longer, but I knew better. I think after that reckless decision, he would have returned immediately, to keep a close eye on her and protect her from putting herself in harms way. Her "solution" to continue hearing his voice was a stupid one, but man, when you truly love someone with such intensity I would do the same

Bella's reaction

Post by ForeverEdwards »

Did anyone bawl their eyes out during new moon?
i think i flooded my room :|

the way she reacted was..really confusing...yet youre understanding it at the same time??
:S
like, i wouldve been all
"No no no no youre NOT going" and begging
but Bella wasnt.
this made me more upset.
and that is why my copy of New Moon is saturated.

was anyone confused by the way she reacted? did anyone think Bella would've reacted differently?
"Bella, would you please stop trying to take your clothes off?"
"Do you want to do that part?"

we all stop swearing, use "yes" rather than "yer", use longer words in our vocabulary, and regain our manners' consciousness...but we'll never find someone who talks with a flow of perfect, formal articulation, picked up in an earlier century.

1. Were you at all surprised by the description Bella gave of the dullness that surrounded her life for the past four months? How did that make you feel?

not at all.
she experienced a love like no other that had consumed her and was then told by that love they didn't want her.
It'd be better if it was ripped away from her.

2. Did you agree with Charlie that Bella should go and be with her mother again? Why or why not?
It wouldn't have made a difference but I can totally see where his train of thought was and he was trying to do something....ANYTHING to get her to snap out of it.

3. Bella chose to spend her first attempt at normalcy with Jessica Stanley. Why do you think she chose Jess and not one of her other friends? Do you think Jess was a good choice? How do you think this event impacted their relationship?
I think she chose Jess because Jess seems like the type that is not in tune with others needs.
She wouldn't be able to tell from Bella's face that something was wrong and wouldn't have gotten into a conversation about it. It was a good choice because it was what she wanted at that time and I don't think it impacted their relationship---it wasn't close to begin with.

4. When Bella first heard Edward's voice, did you think it was REALLY his voice or just in her head? What do you think of her solution to hear his voice more often by putting herself in danger?
I thought it was him! I was certain that he hadn't kept his promise and he was still lingering around Forks keeping a watchful eye on Bella.
I *wanted* Bella to be in dangerous situations because I really thought that if completely necessary he'd crawl out of some nook and save her.
I was devastated when I found out it was her head and not really him.

1. Were you at all surprised by the description Bella gave of the dullness that surrounded her life for the past four months? How did that make you feel?

Yes I was actually. I knew that he had become "her life" but seriously Bella geta grip. Haha. I felt a bit frustrated with her that she couldn't function without him. I know that they were in love and that it's different than normal relationships but still.

2. Did you agree with Charlie that Bella should go and be with her mother again? Why or why not?

I didn't agree with Charlie because I didn't think starting fresh would have been helpful as much as trying to heal the wound where it started.

3. Bella chose to spend her first attempt at normalcy with Jessica Stanley. Why do you think she chose Jess and not one of her other friends? Do you think Jess was a good choice? How do you think this event impacted their relationship?

I think she chose Jessica because she was technically Bella's first "friend" when she first moved to Forks so I feel like she was almost trying to start over in Forks. But I don't think Jess was a good choice. She gossips too much and isn't a very helpful or understanding friend. And the even had a definite negative impact on their relationship. Friendship over.

4. When Bella first heard Edward's voice, did you think it was REALLY his voice or just in her head? What do you think of her solution to hear his voice more often by putting herself in danger?

I actually thought that it was his voice, that he left a bit of himself with her almost because she said she heard his voice better than when she would imagine it otherwise. I thought her idea of putting herself in danger was clever but a bit too risky. She's already accident prone enough as she is trying not to get into danger.
Here, there, and everywhere...that's where you'll find me.

[1. Were you at all surprised by the description Bella gave of the dullness that surrounded her life for the past four months? How did that make you feel?

When you first read the seperation your not sure how she is going to respond. When I started flipping the pages I thought.. Okay, not handling it very well at all! Then I read the description. It makes sense. He is the very center of her universe, how do you survive without that. There connection was intense. Doing the actions of daily life whether your "there" or not does not stop time.

2. Did you agree with Charlie that Bella should go and be with her mother again? Why or why not?

Yes, I agree. I understand her not wanting to go. When you hold on to just the chance he could come back, you want to be there. Also, she was determined not to forgot him "like he never existed", so she wanted to be there where she would remember him most. Charlie just thought a change might do her some good. He was doing the right thing.

3. Bella chose to spend her first attempt at normalcy with Jessica Stanley. Why do you think she chose Jess and not one of her other friends? Do you think Jess was a good choice? How do you think this event impacted their relationship?

She chose Jess because she knew she wouldn't have to talk much with her around. She knew Jess wasn't as perceptive as Angela. If Bella hadn't walked up to that guy at the bar, I think there relationship would have been okay!

4. When Bella first heard Edward's voice, did you think it was REALLY his voice or just in her head? What do you think of her solution to hear his voice more often by putting herself in danger?

Yes I did think it was his voice. I thought maybe he somehow left part of him with her to warn her. Then I kept hoping he was actually there around a corner somewhere watching her! I understand her "need" to hear and feel him. She was so determined to not forget one little detail of him, and she would try anything to keep him somewhere with her. Even if it was not always the wisest choice. She is in LOVE with Edward, there is no one ever that will be what he was to her. She is desperate to hear him, to be with him, whatever that may involve.

1. Were you at all surprised by the description Bella gave of the dullness that surrounded her life for the past four months? How did that make you feel?
no i wasn't. it make me remember my life and it made me REALLY depressed!! so i hated it!!

2. Did you agree with Charlie that Bella should go and be with her mother again? Why or why not?
no, because i know that she should stay but yeah because that way she might think that he wasn't real and forget about Edward.

3. Bella chose to spend her first attempt at normalcy with Jessica Stanley. Why do you think she chose Jess and not one of her other friends? Do you think Jess was a good choice? How do you think this event impacted their relationship?
because Jess talked to much and it wouldn't take much effort to make her talk so Bella wouldn't have to think too much. and she wouldn't have asked questions that Bella didn't want to answer that the rest of her friends would ask. i'm not so sure if it was a good choice or not. it made Bella realize that Jess is not really her friend.

4. When Bella first heard Edward's voice, did you think it was REALLY his voice or just in her head? What do you think of her solution to hear his voice more often by putting herself in danger?
yeah i was so happy and excited because she heard his voice. yeah i would put myself in danger too if i was in her position.
