1. Were you surprised by how spiritual Carlilse is?
Not really. With his father being a pastor and everything, it only made sense.

2. What did you think about the information revealed about Edward's mother?
I was sort of shocked at the fact that she had the sense that Carlisle was something out of this world.

3. When the kiss happened, did you have any ideas about what was to come?
I thought that they would just go through a rocky patch in their relationship, it made me nervous.

1. Were you surprised by how spiritual Carlilse is?

Considering his family life before becoming a vampire, no, I wasn't surprised at all. Especially considering that he's always seemed like the most adjusted to his life.

2. What did you think about the information revealed about Edward's mother?

I thought - WHOAH Edward would look totally hot with green eyes. But when I got over my fangirl moment, the information helped me understand his human life and his original family..

3. When the kiss happened, did you have any ideas about what was to come?

I was worried. Very very very worried. ridiculously worried. Because, like Bella it reminded me of the end of Twilight, but this time I could feel that maybe he was going into one of those darn self hate spirals and .. it worried me.

1. Were you surprised by how spiritual Carlisle is? Not at all. Carlisle was a man of God in his human life, and faith isn't something a couple hundred years can take away. This chapter made Carlisle shoot up about three spots on my favorite character list. It's sort of sad to learn that Edward doesn't believe in a heaven for himself.

2. What did you think about the information revealed about Edward's mother? It's very interesting to hear some new information on Edward's human life. His mother was obviously a very caring person, and it's very, VERY interesting to read her conversations with Carlisle.

3. When the kiss happened, did you have any ideas about what was to come?I knew that it was going to be something awful, because apparently, the Desperate Kiss O' Doomed Love is SteMe's favorite form of foreshadowing. I already knew that Edward was going to leave because of the summary, but I didn't expect him to be so MEAN about it.

1. Were you surprised by how spiritual Carlilse is?
--No because he has always seemed to very calm and trusting and since his father was a spiritual man he had been brought up around religion.

2. What did you think about the information revealed about Edward's mother?
-- I think the information helped us understand Edwards past. His mother was like any mother I've ever known: she used all her strength to help her son and she put him before her, even though she was also terminally ill. Edward had green eyes :)

3. When the kiss happened, did you have any ideas about what was to come?
-- I thought something bad will happen but I didn't think the bad thing would be Edward leaving. The kiss, and the narration that followed, brought a feeling of unease down my spine.
We're Running From the Mob In A Passenger Van... How great is that!!
It's okay to say you like children... But it's not okay to say you like a certain age... Then it's just creepy.

1. Were you surprised by how spiritual Carlilse is?
Umm, not really. Carisle just seems like the type of guy you would meet at church. And his father was a priest, wasn't he?

2. What did you think about the information revealed about Edward's mother?
Well, I always love to learn about the Cullens and their past, which is absolutely one of the main reasons I cannot wait for Eclipse to come out(other than reading it, of course ;) ).

3. When the kiss happened, did you have any ideas about what was to come?
The first time I read it I didn't think much about it, but the third time through the book, I realized it may have been his final show of affection for her.

I want to address omething about that part too. The first time I read it I saw that it said

Stephanie Meyer wrote:"Sorry," he said, and he was breathless too.

Heloo? I thought vampires didn't need to breathe! I mean I know they can and normlly do out of habit, but still...

1. Were you surprised how spiritual Carlisle is? No, not at all. This scene between Carlisle and Bella is one of my favorites. Carlisle's spirituality and his father's, makes Carlisle's mission/ choice to not kill people so much more believable.

2. What did you think about the information revealed about Edward's mother? Edward can read minds because in his human life he was good at reading people. This made me wonder if Edward's mother was just as good since she seemed to sense something was different about Carlisle's "doctoring" skills.

3. When the kiss happened, did you have any ideas about what was to come? Not at all - I was too busy having fun, reveling in the intimacy of it. It wasn't until Bella mentioned that it reminded her of another kiss...that's when it dawned on me and my mind said, "Oh No!"

1. Were you surprised by how spiritual Carlilse is?
Surprised? No! His father was a clergyman for goodness sakes. ^_^;;
I can see how it might be surprising, however, to someone who is under the stereotypical belief that all vampires are non-believers and devil worshippers.

2. What did you think about the information revealed about Edward's mother?
I was surprised. It was information about Edward that we never had known before, yet still glad to learn. Stephenie has made her characters all so very complex, that it is enlightening to learn more about them.

3. When the kiss happened, did you have any ideas about what was to come?
I didn't like how it ended. It had suddenly gone from being sweet, to almost bitter in a way. Bitter only can mean one thing: Trouble.

1.) Carlisle just has that quality about him. Considering his father was a member of the clergy, and he himself had been raised to adulthood in that manner, I wasn't surprised that he still "believes". That and I think he would need SOMETHING to believe in considered how long he's been around and just how hard he struggled to overcome his vampire senses so he could help people. Otherwise I'm sure he wouldn't see the point in continuing on.

2.)It's nice to know about Edwards past in more detail. It makes me wonder whether Edwards broodying habits came from his mom (she did seem pretty intense). The information about him having green eyes made me squeel :D

3.) Once Bella was reminded of when she's been kissed like that before I started to get worried. Unfortunately the whole leaving aspecyt of the plot has been spoiled for me, so I knew it was going to happen soon. I'd been holding out hope that Edward would only disappear for a few chapters. NOT the majority of the book.

1. Were you surprised by how spiritual Carlisle is?
Not at all. Would a non spiritual vampire have a cross in his home? I was surprised that spirituality was such heavy theme in New Moon. But I believe Love is a type of spirituality, and having that to compare helped express how Bella would view her determination to become a vampire if she were Edward. What a wise father Carlisle is to help Bella see someone else's perspective without being preachy. If only I could use some of those parental skills with my own children.

2. What did you think about the information revealed about Edward's mother?
I think knowing the background of Edward's conversion helps us to understand Carlisle's reasoning and also justifications for taking another's life. I think Carlisle's story helped give Bella a point of reference to compare with her own desires to be a vampire.

3. When the kiss happened, did you have any ideas about what was to come?
I was completely blindsided. I just took the warm gushing feelings I was having as I read the kiss and left it at that, so much for being a perceptive reader.
