1)When i first read it, I thought nothing of the exchange; the Cullens, by that point, we're well-known to me to have money, so I read on in a haste to finish the book. After, when I reread it, I stopped and thought about it. Alice is smart and (as bad as this may seem), money has the ability to speed things up a little. Naturally both her and Bella were in a big rush to get to Edward in time, so it makes sense (to me) that Alice would have a large amount of money on her if/when she needed it. Also, she most likely would have seen it coming because of her power, so I'm sure she was well prepared for the exchange.

2) No. I believed the whole time that Bella was going to make it. I figured that logically, the book was too long to have Edward die before they got there; there had to be more to the story. Now, I'm not saying that logic is sound, but that is what I relied on so I wouldn't skip to the end and read it to make sure he survived :). Let's say I trusted Stephenie Meyer enough to believe he would live.

3)At first I was shocked, considering it was known that vampires are hard to kill (let's keep in mind this is my opinion, and I don't know how the Volturi kill/what powers the other guards have, so I'm basing this on what I know). I was happy though, because that was my "He really does still love her!" moment (a happy one at that :) ). I like that scene, it was sweet in a life-threateningish way.

4)I read that part too fast and thought of her as a grown woman (and still do, which is very annoying, considering I know she isn't). I figure Edward wouldn't be scared of her for no reason, so I assumed that she was high up in the Volturi line, or had a strong power. Or that Edward was being a wuss :D (glad it wasn't the last one though).

5)I thought he loved her. And the part after that I'm a little hazey on because every time I read it I started jumping up and down because I know they are getting back together :D

1) Alice is always prepared... I was not surprised at all that she has lots of cash and that she used it to bribe an officer... She knew she would only have so much time to get Bella in and so she made it possible by lots of dough...

2) I knew Bella would make it in time... I knew it because the story would end and I already had Eclipse waiting for me to pick it up when I turned the last page of New Moon...

3) I loved it when Edward thought they were both dead... It showed me & Bella that he SO loved Bella and that he left to protect her...

4) When Jane was described I was a little stunned... but then I realized that she must have a whopper as a gift for Edward and Alice to completely surrender.

5) I knew Edward wan not just being nice from the moment Bella crashed into him to get him back into the shade... I knew he was holding her, touching her, kissing her because he desperately loves her and missed her, and because deep down he thought this would be their last moments together...
"Bella... are you sure? Did you make the right choice? I've never seen you in so much pain-"
I touched his lips. "Yes."
"I don't know... If it hurts you so much, how can it possibly be the right thing for you?"
"Edward, I know who I can't live without."
"But..."
"You don't understand... I have to be with you. It's the only way I can live."
He pulled me closer, "'I cannot live without my life! I cannot live without my soul!'"

1. What did you think of Alice's bribe? What does it say to you that she not only had that much cash handy, but that she thought it would take that much money to bribe the officer?

I thought it was totally a Cullen thing. I could see anyone of them doing it.

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time?

Not really, I was crying while yelling at the book. I know kind of sad. But there was so much releif when she got to him in time.

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?

I was like are you dumb. Look around, I think you would have noticed if you died.

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approched. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!

I was like who is she to strike fear into Edward's heart. I should just run away now. It's safer that way.

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?

So in this part Bella was being stupid. Edward loves her. I don't know how she doesn't see it. I guess that love really is blind. Or at least in this case broken.
To love is devine. But to have loved and lost is so much better. Then you truely appericate that thing we call love.If Edward ever had a child with his human features it would be Zoe. Don't believe me. Go to http://tinyurl.com/ysfuah

1. What did you think of Alice's bribe? What does it say to you that she not only had that much cash handy, but that she thought it would take that much money to bribe the officer?
I thought she was leaving nothing to chance if she could help it. Obviously she loves her "brother" Edward so much that she is willing to do anything that she can so she would have every chance to save him. She is a smart girl and was prepared for the human nature of the guards. It is almost predictable to know that no simple man who works as a guard wouldn't be at least a bit tempted by that amount of cash.

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time?
I had that edge of your seat feeling as I was reading (a testament to Ms. Meyer's writing). Even with that I knew there was no way that she wouldn't save Edward, it just wasn't in Bella to let everyone down.

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?
I was overjoyed when he saw Bella and thought this. It only further proved how much he loved her in the true sense. It was literally heaven in her arms to him and that was what he deserved. It also illustrated that Edward did have hope for a afterlife in heaven rather than being doomed to an eternal damnation. Even though he couldn't admit that before, here you see that he does have that hope/belief.

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approached. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!
I assumed that he wanted to protect Bella. If someone with the talents that he had was there with Alice who is also extraordinarily talented had the thought to give up, she must have been bad. He knew what she was like and only wanted to protect Bella from further harm.

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?
To me it was very clear how he felt about her. He had come so close to losing her forever already and he was not going to take any other chances that she might get harmed.

Maybe she couldn't "see" if he would accept the bribe but she could see what bribes he wouldn't accept. We knew the Cullens' were very rich from being around so long and with Alice's abilities so i guess the bribe or the amount of money didn't really surprise me

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time?

I honestly wasn't sure what Stephenie's plans were for Edward at that point.

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?

I thought it was beautiful

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approched. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!

I knew she must be able to do something terrible for them to not try and fight. I had no idea what though. Or that just her presense meant they were dead meat.

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?

I never doubted Edward's love for Bella but i still wasn't sure if he was going to leave or not when it was all over. Assuming they got out alive.

Personally, I think it was a little bit overkill... couldn't she have just snapped one of his fingers off or something?

No?

*grumbles* no one ever understands my sense of humor.

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time?
Yes, and I practically hyperventilated. I was seriously screaming at a book like my step dad does when he watches football on TV. I knew it wouldn't help, but who can blame me for trying?! :D

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?
Once again, I screamed at the book. This time, though, I tried to keep the language parent-friendly, because my mother was in the room.

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approached. What was your assumption about Jane when you first "saw" her - be honest!

I kind of assumed that it was just another freaked out little Italian kid at first, you know, just trying to make sure that everyone was okay (yeah, at the time, it did seem kind of odd, but I had no idea that anything else was coming, so I assumed...).

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?
I kind of didn't get in the beginning that she thought Edward was not in love with her anymore, so i kind of just thought that she was being delusional.

THE END!

1. What did you think of Alice's bribe? What does it say to you that she not only had that much cash handy, but that she thought it would take that much money to bribe the officer?

I thought it was clever. I'd say that she came prepared and ready to do what she had to for the sake of her brother.

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time?
There were points were I thought that, but I never really stuck with it.

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?

I was like "Aww!" and then "BOOYAH! I was right! He still loves her!"

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approched. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!

That she was packing some freakish talent or had something up her sleeve.

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?

I thought that he loved her, because I never stopped believing that he did. It was all very Edward to me.

1. What did you think of Alice's bribe? What does it say to you that she not only had that much cash handy, but that she thought it would take that much money to bribe the officer?

My first reaction was waw she's really smart, to think of such a detail. It didn't shock me that she had such a big amount of money on her. But it made her seem almost wity. She often seems so child like and it's these moments when she acts her age- (what ever that may be) that kind of make me do a double take. Like oh yeah she's really an adult not 17. - and i love that.

2. Did you ever think Bella wasn't going to make it in time?

I knew she would make it on time, that the story couldn't end like this but that didn't stop my heart from thumping hard, and me feeling nervouse. And when i get nervouse for the characters while i'm reading i tend to read out loud, so when Bella was shouting i was shouting, i could feel what she was feeling it was frustrating.

3. How did you respond when Edward assumed they were both dead?

I was kind of touched this part. It was like, oh he missed her.

4. Edward pretty much gave up the moment tiny, little Jane approched. What was your assumption about Jane when you first saw her - be honest!

I was shocked that this tiny thing had so much power over him so quickly, and i immeditly loved her character. She's intresting because of her power, and she knows she has that affect on people.

5. Bella assumed that Edward was being nice, but not romantic, by protecting her as they made their way down the tunnel. What did you think of the way he was holding her and protecting her?

I wasn't really sure what to think. i found it cute that he was protective of her, but unlike Bella i knew he wasn't going to leave her again. I was absolutly sure of it.
